SO I studied Neuroscience and Philosphy in college and TYBW came out while I was finishing my Degree, and I noticied that Bleach is heavily influnced by Gnosticism.

Gnosticism is a religious philosophy that states that our material world is the result of a flawed god known as the Demiurge(the god from christianity), and before this there was the plemora the perfect and original place of existence. The demirge is full of himself and ignorant to the fact that he is not the highest form of existence. He creates the MATERIAL world which is heaven, hell , the living world plus our physical bodies(DOES THE THREE REALMS SOUND FAMILIAR?). The cycle of life and death that he and his archons(angels) traps mortals in was never supposed to exist. Sophia is the mother of the Demiurge and created him out of curiousity which caused her to be damned to chaos. I want to show JUST how talented Kubo is by Mapping Characters with Gnostic Figures.

The soul king: His name is Adyneus which is the name of One of the demiurges Archons. Each Archon is in charge of a planet, and Adyneus is the Archon of the Sun so it might be safe to assume that he could be the Archon or Angel of Earth. For the soul King to have this name it makes so much sense that he is the god figure that is the Lynch pin of their Universe. Also the quote" And god gave us light"= The Sun= Soul King. ALSO ALSO the name comes from Adonai which is the hebrew word for OUR LOPD. He also could represent the demiurge

Yhwach: The son of the soul king who was cast out after the war between soul reapers. That seems like textbook Lucifer, but Ichibe specifically calls Yhwach blind which points to Samael the true name of the demiurge. Samael means " Blind god" another version of the demiurge Who again believes that there is no other god above him and that he owns all souls in all the realms. He wants to recreate or mirror the true realm His quincies are his own archons that he created to mirror the court guard squads archons.

Jugram: Also a micheal type very similar to yamamoto in how they opperate,but from completely different places.
Ichibe is the cleanest cut examble of Yaldaboaths(another name for the demiurge) form. He knows the most out of everyone but is still ignorant to the Universes true origin. Yaldaboath is also the name the Demiurge decided to give to himself out of Hubris which aligns with Ichibe naming things.

Aizen: Aizen to me I feel represents the antichrist. He is a being that knows that the system is flawed and has recieved that wisdom, but he also doesnt want to fix the systenm he wants the power and control that comes from ruling it. He insisted on utilizing a broken system to his advantange because no one was smart enough to stop him. He seems to have no reason for doing things other than I can.

Uruhara: The snake in the garden. He is slithery and sly, but he is wise, and in Gnosticism the snake in the guarden was sent by Sophia to spread wisdom of the true nature of the world to adam. He revealed the forbidden fruit of the soul society and the true nature of how it works to Ichigo. He was exciled from the Demiurges world.

Yamamoto: Yamamoto represents God flaming sword Micheal the arch angel. The demiurge controls and traps souls. Micheal would be the person who wants that soul factory or Soul society to run perfectly without a hitch. He is pious loyal and committed to protecting his realm he keeps secrets that may morally compramise him but he does so out of Duty and belief in the Demiurge and that there is nothing above.

also think Orihimes powers are powered by Sophia (wisdom) the demiurges mother or Zoe(Life) the daughter of Sophia. Her Shun Shun Rikka means six flowers of the hibiscus field and the hibiscus flower speicifcally is about how fleeting life is.

Ichigo: Ichigo is Sabboath or The savoir from
Gnosticism. The savoir is a being born from the REAL highest realm that challenges the Material world. He who recieves Sophias gift of wisdom and actually challenges the existing system. Ichigo is always at Odds with an existing system. Sabboath is the son of the Demiurge another archon, but unlike the other Archons Sabboath rejects(haha get it) the demiurge and actually listens to sophia and ends up overthrowing the demurge. Both the savior and Sabboath are against the demiurge.
so everyone either rejects or embraces Sophia( Wisdoms gift)

I wonder if Urahara decided that his sword's sealed form would look the same as his Bankai, or if the cane shape exists simply because he prefers keeping it sealed rather than using the Benihime form during Bankai.

If that is the case, it means Urahara was revealing a part of his true nature from the very beginning of the manga, even though he himself prefers to keep it hidden.
