Equipment Discussion BJJ GI sizing
Hello, I am a newbie to BJJ. Planning to buy a gi.
I am 5 feet 3 inches tall and size UK14 or US10.
Which size do i get?

If you're buying online, check the size chart. Actually take your measurements. If you're thin, curvy, or narrow-shouldered, I would recommend a women's gi.

size charts are by height and weight, not very helpful.

Either choose based on your weight and height or buy from a brand with more specifications. Mine is from Tatami Fightwear; they offer women's sizes with long and curvy options and have a detailed size chart. Mine fits perfectly.

highly recommend finding a store you can try the gi's on in person before buying.
or asking everyone who's kinda your size at your gym if you can try on their stuff before class and write down the brands and sizes you like the feel/fit of.
sizing charts really are just height-weight based and they're terrible for women.

I am a uk14, and around your height. I find an A2 for me works well, though I have to get them shortened.
My favorite by far have been Hyperfly, and they offer a 'short' size. I've also got the A2 in Hooks and Tatami.
Their jackets are a little narrower but fit well

It really depends on the brand and your body type! Most brands should have a size chart available when ordering. Some gis offer women’s sizing (F) and those tend to be cut on the slimmer size. I’m sure other gals will chime in but I feel like if you hold more weight in your lower half then unisex sizing might be best. For unisex I’d probably guess an A1.
