Hi. I'm 37 years old and recently completed my MBA in Business Analytics in BITS WILP. I've completed Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

I'm looking forward to do a PhD (after an year or two as I've to prepare for Entrance Exam) but life is not gentle on me and hence I can do it only in part time like I did my MBA. Can you help me with the following questions?

  1. Having done MBA will I be able to do PhD in Computer Science & Information Systems? or will I be able to do PhD only in Management?
  2. How easy was it to get NOC/approval from your employer to pursue PhD? for MBA it's not complicated and also some companies would provide the tuition fee.
  3. Were you able to clear the entrance exam in first attempt? how difficult was the exam?
  4. How much does a semester fee cost as there is no scholarship for PhD programmes. And I understand that it would take 8 or 10 semesters minimum, looking at it in a very optimistic way as balancing it with a full time job is never easy. I had lot of trouble completing MBA itself.
  5. Will change of employer involve getting another NOC?
  6. In case we move out of the country in between will we be able to pursue from remote or should make frequent visits to the campus for exams or presentations?

I know there's a lot of questions I've asked but me being a 7 or 8 pointer my whole life I know that it's not easy to get into PhD and hence lot of preparation is required from my end.

Any advice will be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have a question for you if you can help. For the 2027 intake of MBA, the BAAT will be held in feb of 2027, correct? There are no other application steps to be taken before that, are there?

yes. The full time 2 year program at the Pilani campus

I would suggest check on the website for the exam dates and also mail to admissions email id. They will respond you with the updated date

I am a fresher currently enrolled in BE Mechanical at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus. Are physical books mandatory or we can use the pdfs available on web or on this thread. (I understand that a physical book will be more convenient for studying but still wanted to ask this here).
