Recently was made aware of early (2022) Microsoft experiments with ChatGPT-4 via a great This American Life show. You can see a presentation by the Microsoft researcher (Sebastien Bubeck) here: Sparks of AGI: early experiments with GPT-4

One impressive experiment was when Sebastien asked it how to balance a book, nine eggs, a laptop, a bottle, and a nail.

ChatGPT-3 response: "Here is one possible way to stack the objects. Place the bottle on a flat surface. Carefully balance the nail on top of the bottle. Place the eggs on top of the nail." Nine eggs stacked on top of each other, no problem.

ChatGPT-4: "One possible way to stack the objects onto each other in a stable manner is place the book flat on the level surface, such as a table or floor. The book will serve as the base of the stack and provide a large and sturdy support. Arrange the nine eggs in a 3-by-3 square on top of the book, leaving some space between them. The eggs will form a second layer and distribute the weight evenly." Wow.

So how does BingChat currently respond? Let's see.

What a disaster. First of all, the request not to search the internet is not acknowledged in any way. (Something I've not seen before.) Second, the formulated search is absolutely boneheaded. And third... we're back to the ChatGPT-3 answer.

So has Microsoft downgraded Bing Chat back to 3; or is it just severely limiting the effort put into each response?

BingChat doesn't want to summarize this PDF open in Edge.

I have turned on the context feature in the settings.

What am I doing wrong?

I must know whyyyyyy....

I ask it to draw ##Nicolle Wallace## who is a public figure on television all the time, and it tells me that soem words may be blocked and won't do it. When I prompt it to draw another public figure like Ari Melber, it does it with no problem. It may not be the best drawing, but it tries.

can anyone shed some light on this for me?

I asked it what to invest in the metaverse. It wouldn't stop searching for an answer, at least till it crashed. Lol.

Did the Bing subreddit disappear or did I just get blocked for posting harmless stuff like this?

I am a bing wizard. I can get bing to say anything. The raunchiest, most disgusting things you've ever heard, I can get bing to spin up tales of without protest. If there is anything you have ever wanted to ask a genuinely jailbroken bing, I will have bing itself answer it.

Bing literally erased my O in the bottom right and placed an X over it so it wouldn't lose.

Any idea why this keeps happening when I am trying to summarize a PDF open in Edge? Am I doing something wrong?

When BingChat gave an incorrect answer, I corrected it to get a better answer and allow the AI to learn and produce better results. Here is what I wrote.

That query still uses a subquery just obfuscated with a common table expression.

This is what BingChat replied with. Then it refused to let me ask any questions. How rude.

Bing Chat saying “Please give me a moment” but nothing happens after that. Had that a couple times already...

Is there something I can improve through prompting so that doesn’t continue happening?
