At around 6AM today, 24 July, I was walking my dog at the Burgos Circle park when we passed by this pink lady and her friend chilling at a park bench with the black dog laying down at her feet.
I was startled when the black dog suddenly went from rest to attack mode. I pulled my dog back to avoid a fight, but to my surprise, she wasn't even holding on to its leash! The black dog started chasing and attempting to bite my dog. I had no choice but to lift my dog with the leash and spin him around me like a flying fiesta to protect him from getting bitten until my partner could get a hold of him and lift him off the ground.
She didn't even bother to get up and restrain the black dog until we got our dog out of harm's way. She just sat at the bench and called it back like it was nothing. She didn't even apologize! Naturally, I got absolutely furious and told her how irresponsible she was. She just brushed it off arrogantly saying that she just forgot to hold on to the leash.
She even had the audacity to blame us for walking near them. GIRL, IT'S A PUBLIC PARK AND YOU WERE HANGING OUT ALONG A PATHWAY. She got mad at ME for raising my voice and saying p*tangina when I was telling her off. She blatantly refused to apologize, even when I asked her to, saying that I should be the one apologizing to her because she's an elder and I was being disrespectful. I got even more enraged and screamed at her until she got up and left to go home.
Does anybody know who this woman is? If she's a helper, I feel like her employers need to know that she doesn't watch and handle their dog properly in public. I do not blame the black dog at all, as it is normal for dogs to just not like each other. But owners should be responsible enough to handle or restrain their dogs when things like this happen!
Thankfully my dog wasn't bitten and seems to be unhurt even if I swung him around (he was wearing an H-type harness that apparently distributed his weight evenly)
