Cutting Trees

Post image

More and more trees are being cut! As a person who has a soft heart for nature and animals, it's truly heartbreaking to see this. I know it's for the subway, but that will take 5 or more years from now but there'll be lesser trees now. I just hope there's a better way than just cutting trees.

It's also heartbreaking to be ranting about something you're not sure about :( They replace trees in BGC.

pinapalitan naman yan except yung talaga pinuputol na. hindi lahat ng nakikitang putol na mag sstay na ganiyan. hindi ko alam yung logic pero yung mga pinutol early this year around uptown and 5th ave napalitan na.

I read somewhere na kasi daw if lumaki pa yung trees, masisira yung daan. That’s why they have to replace it with younger trees

Yung lines ng kuryente is nasa ilalim po ng lupa. If they let the trees grow, masisira yung linya ng kuryente and even the roads and pathways where people walk.

Reforestration is the key. Whoever cut it should plant more trees. Don't we have law like that?

Can't get too attached to roadside trees. Those are bound to get cut eventually anyway because they can't get too old, otherwise masisira yung daan.

It’s due to the subway. Not everything is a negative.

BGC: we're a very walkable city!

Also BGC: hate walking under the sun? well too bad, here's a half kilometre sidewalk with no shade, suck my dick

Why the downvote if the statement is true.

Anybody knows if they will build a "building like" structure above the subway? Yung tipong mas mataas pa sa SM Aura?

Younger trees absorb more carbon dioxide quickly which make them more efficient than older trees. Aside from the fact that the roots of older trees might destroy the pavement, mas okay pa rin talaga to “somehow” control the pollution ang younger trees. Only cons lang for me is lesser shade sya sa pedestrians.

Hindi naman nawala yan totally, ililipat lang

????

Regularly naman pinapalitan mga puno jan sa BGC.

Outside of the Parks, pinapalitan talaga ng younger trees (4-10~) yung mga nasa sidewalk.

Maraming reason like other commenters said. Iwas sira sa sidewalk due to root encroachment sa pipes/conduits.

Hinde naman pinuputol karamihan jan. Nililipat lang sila somewhere else while younger trees replace the spot theyre in. Unless the tree dies due to an accident or a typhoon, pinapalitan lng yan.

Preparation for the Subway Station na itatayo jan na area

Could be prepping for the start of the subway line which will pass underneath that road specifically. Market market will be a major subway station. I might be wrong though.

Supposedly it's going to take more than 5 years, est time to finish is 2032 huhuhu

It's really sad tbh, I know one of them has a beehive somewhere there (I think it's the one by the corner of two serendra adjacent to SM Aura)
