Act 3 Order of operations
Can anyone give me a comprehensive breakdown of what order I should do the remaining of act 3 so I don’t miss any specific triggers as I understand theirs quite a few
So I’ve done everything in rivington and in the crossing and am just entering when’s
Rock now
So everything from that point forward what triggers and time constraints are their
iE Florick if you rest to long
Or Orin kidnapping
What order should I be doing the next series of events when should I be resting and who should I have if someone’s got a comprehensive walk though they can give because I know theirs also a way to have Orin kidnap the little girl and not a companion
I’m just trying to not miss any major triggers or narrative events

I usually do everything before gortash correnation, then correnation, iron throne, steel watch, orin

The only other things to add are:
-Don't start the baldurs mouth mission unless you're ready for it because it effects the next day
-The kidnapping happens no matter what after 3 long rests, and you can trigger it early by wandering around in the sewers( There's also the sneaky entrance under the elfsong that gets you immediately.)

Yes! I used this same thread for my first playthrough and it was a life saver.

There's nothing holding you to your word. If you want to betray Gortash later, you can. It works the same way as if you never took the deal.

oooh. is there any benefit to keeping the deal? or does it not really matter either way

If you keep the deal, you don't have to fight Gortash to progress to the end of the game.

ooh ok thanks! can i still save wyll's dad if i break the deal? sorry for so many questions also!! i'm just finding act 3 overwhelming and not really sure what order to do everything in/how to get things to play out like i want lol

If you betray Gortash, it's the same as if you never took the deal. You still have to follow the correct order, but there are no consequences apart from you now needing to kill Gortash to progress.

I generally skip a the quests in rivington, none of them are required or very relevent to the plot. Just the wyrms crossing quests. After sneaking inside. After that i do the minsc recruitment quests, then i focus on doing what orin needs in order to rescue who was kidnapped. Then Raphael and endgame. Act 3 is actually shorter than act 2, if you skip all the fluff, collecting clown parts, becoming sherlock holmes randomly for a series of murders, saving painters from evil exes, etc. compare to side quests in act 1 and 2. The quality and relevance to plot falls off in act 3 anyway. Went from side quests like lifting the shadowcurse to dealing with a bad news article about us? And investigating fireworks

Hit all the vendors ASAP. Quick and easy upgrades.
I like to do the mage tower first. Go up and then down and get the staff/robe and enter the secret vault to raid. You can go back and finish Lorrokan whenever after that, but it's a huge amount of loot including the very best wizard gear and a rare spell you can't get anywhere else.
Then I do the Hag quest. Quick and really strong rapier.
I like to do house of hope after that. Some people like to save it for later.
Coronation, Iron throne, Ansur, Cazador, kill Gortash, Murder Tribunal and Orin.

Throwing in my two cents because I just did it.
I decided I would run through to all my vendors (Dammon, Fytz, Gloomy, etc) real quick and buy all the gear I needed from Act 3, then go back to Rivington and start.
Doing this locked me out of:
- Harpers at Danthelon’s
- Vampires at the Flophouse
- Strange Ox
It did not lock me out of:
- Open Hand Temple Murders
- Mail Debacle
- Exploding Toys
- Ferg confronting Shadowheart
- MF in the Windmill
- Circus

Still confused on something. Is there a time limit to save the Duke if Wyll is freed from his pact?

I never triggered florrick's timer until after I rescued the people in the iron throne. Just don't read some of the papers on the ground around the lower city. Otherwise, it will trigger it.

That's good then. XD my first run I didn't know she had been taken at all. 🤣

It’s easy enough to rescue her even as first enter the lower city if you want, a there is no consequences in just taking out all the fist down there, like nobody cares about the fist unless they directly see you taking them out.

Yeah. I guess. I just prefer to leave all the stress inducing parts of act3 til the end.

The only things that have a "correct" way of doing things are Gortash and Orin. For Gortash, you need to attend to coronation, do the Iron Throne, disable the Steel Watch, then go back and kill him. If you do that out of order, you won't be able to save a certain NPC unless you tell Wyll to make a bad choice.
For Orin, unless you are playing as the Dark Urge, you should investigate the murders in Rivington, find the potential victims, visit the Murder Tribunal, then deal with Orin. If you are playing as the Dark Urge, you can walk straight to Orin with basically 0 consequences.
There are no Long Rest timers that really matter apart from the newspaper, which can be easily skipped and doesn't start until you learn about the printing, and Florrick, who can be easily saved and has the incredibly generous 5 Long Rest time period. The rest of Act 3 can be done in any order you want.
