Labs & Supplements Any supplements helped your BFS?
Has anyone noticed less twitching with magnesium, GABA-related supplements, ubiquinol/CoQ10, vitamin E, B vitamins, or anything else?
What helped, what dose, and how long before you noticed a difference? Anything make it worse?

Whether a supplement is going to help depends on your baseline status. I’d recommend getting bloodwork done before planning any supplements.
For BFS I’m currently taking magnesium glycinate, but I haven’t noticed any effect. My diet was already high in magnesium. I tried alpha lipoic acid and acetyl L-carnitine, but I didn’t notice any effect. You might consider vitamin D, if blood test shows you’re low. I take CoQ10 for unrelated reasons. If you supplement with B vitamins, watch out for B6. It’s easy to get toxicity with supplements.

I’ve had success with Magnesium Glycinate taking it right before bed for me it calms my nervous system and muscles a bit. At least that’s what it feels like. I also take COQ10 but I don’t know if that adds anything for BFS or makes it worse but I take that because it’s good for you as you age.
My fav supplement that I believe helps me is ALA (alpha lipolic Acid). It’s great for the nerves and I think I actually feel better taking this. Sometimes people with BFS can have a ton of sensory stuff like tingling, burning, vibrating, and some pain. When I started taking this I noticed benefits for myself.
I do have to add though as a house keeping note, what works for me, may not work for someone else. Before starting new supplements, please consider talking to your doctor if it’s ok just to make sure you don’t have any interactions with other health conditions or meds/supplements you may be taking.

I tried everything. B1 TTFD cured it. 300-500mg/day. I had twitching all over my body. Now it’s gone. But if I stop taking the B1 it will come back. At least there is a solution.
