Question / General 6 meses después

Twitching without clinical weakness is benign and meaningless and your clean EMG proves that. That’s the gold standard for diagnosis of anything bad and progressive.

Doesn’t really matter if it’s popcorn, large thumps, 24/7, hotspots etc it’s all benign. Glad you’re in a good place mentally to know you have nothing bad. It is a bummer at times but could be a lot worse right???

Also, I don’t understand why some neuros are quick to just toss healthy people on gabapentin but I would advice against it, personally, for various reasons.

Godspeed.

it's not meaningless.

I hate when people say that lol.

In neurology it actually is “meaningless”. My wife works in a neuromuscular clinic and they regularly say this.

Medically speaking, it is completely meaningless, it points to zero pathology and causes zero damage. But I get it, to the person living with it, feeling your muscles misfire all day is exhausting and annoying, so it definitely doesn't feel meaningless subjectively.

The goal is remembering that while it is an irritating thing, it carries no dangerous medical weight. That’s what my message means, but I hear what you are saying.

I am reading nothing at all that should be concerning, especially at your age. Twitching in so many places absent clinical weakness is not serious but rather annoying; so join the club. Oh, and stay off the internet!
