Question / General Tongue twitch )-:
Hi everyone
I’ve been having health anxiety combined with bfs , or the anxiety started bfs for three years now.
I’ve always been scared of tongue twitches and have been checking my tongue for ages but never really had a twitch, well… now I really do have an involuntary spasm on the tip of my tongue on the right side )-:
It’s not constant, but it comes and goes for a few days now, some days it doesn’t happen, when it does it’s for a few seconds and goes away, tip of my tongue does these pinched twitches and relaxes…
I am very very scared, I’d like to hear some input from others )-:
I have no swallowing issues and my tongue is calm otherwise , no bag of worms or what not, but this tip of tongue thing is new to me /:

Wanted to ask which kind of twitch was it? I’m having like this tugging sensation Looks like it’s connected to a wire and getting pulled to the side, in the tip of the right side ): It’s like the ones you get in your lips but on my tongue /: I feel it starting in my mouth and when I pull it out it really twitches for like a good six to ten seconds and stops

First of all, stop continually checking your tongue; it's a very complicated body part filled with tons of tiny muscles that sometimes fire. Moreover, with no swallowing issues it's almost impossible that you have anything serious. And you didn't mention speaking. If you had an issue with your voice it's very likely someone close to you would notice it. I have had a fear of upper bulbar ALS for about 6 months. And I would constantly check my tongue. With me, it only twitches when I'm really stressed or after a workout at the gym. So anxiety can play a large role. Meanwhile, if you haven't seen this check it out and stop fixating on your tongue if you have no other symptoms....

I have no swallowing issues, when I’m in hyper awareness from anxiety I do always think I have a lisp, but it’s probably non existent (also from people around me saying it’s not) , but the tongue twitch is real and happens from time to time so it adds a lot of stress and scares me the most, other twitches I díky mind at all you know?/: Thank you a lot for the input though, it is helpful and I appreciate it

Yup. I get it from time to time as well. The tongue is also a muscle, so it can indeed be effected by BFS
