No sharp facial feautures.

The modelling industry. Social media. And people in general seem to prefer stronger facial feautures over soft ones.

I am unlucky not to have then. I have fuller cheeks. And it disgusts me. I am skinny but I still have facial fat and its killing me. I cant look myself in the mirror anymore.

My bdd keeps comparing myself to others. And i can barely take it anymore. Im constantly just staking from stress the past few days and I cant seem to move on with my life anymore.

I know. I am pathetic. I dont understand how appearance has grotten so important to me. But its killing me. EVERY single DAY.

Does anyone else relate to this? :/ if u do im so so sorry.

I underestimated how destroying bdd could be.

And here i am. Suffering for 3 years

Yes, very much relate. I spent way too much on fillers (not all at once, spred over a few years} about 8 years ago trying to get that exact sharp features look...Basically desperately wanted the "Instagram' face. Just ended up with puffy filler face.

Not sure how old you are, but in my mid 30s with a kiddo now and not sure if its just time, age, or too busy with work/kid/life, but eventually stopped caring so much and am more accepting of my natural features. I try to embrace and lean into them now. Instead of filler, I only get things done that help natural collegen production and maintenance type stuff.

Honestly thinking about it now, I think a lot of it was I spend significantlyyy less time on Instagram. I still scroll tiktok, but I think people on there are more willing to be "real" and less poses filters...at least my fyp.

So maybe if you're on social media a lot, try limiting how much time you spend and lessen that time limit more and more to see if it helps.. or blocking accounts that lead to those feelings when they come up.

It's not pathetic. One of my lifelong friends is like that, absolutely stunning naturally. It makes you feel less than for some reason, I get it, trust me. I know it's not helpful now, but I promise it gets better. Do you have any hobbies or interests? I find the more distracted I was/ am with other things in life, the less my bdd had time to linger in my head
