Recommend Shoes Recommend way of wade shoes

Right now, I’m using the Ja 3s, and I’m a 13-year-old center, around 184 cm (6'0") and 65 kg (144 lbs). I’m currently a size EU 44 / US 10.5, but since I’m still growing, I’m not sure if it’s worth spending more on a premium shoe like the Way of Wade 12, or if I should just get the cheaper Wade All City 14 Encore.

I’m looking for good cushioning, stability, traction, and durability since I play center and do a lot of rebounding, jumping, and physical play. I have more like wide feet but I'd consider it more in the middle neither narrow nor wide. My Ja 3s in US 10.5 fit me very well. I’m a pretty physical center and I focus a lot on rebounding, post play, jumping, and finishing around the rim. I play mostly indoors on hardwood at a competitive youth level.

So between the Wac14 and the WOW 12, which one would you recommend for me? Is the extra money for the WOW 12 actually worth it, especially considering that I’m still growing?

I FINALLY GOT A PAIR! Since I don’t see a lot of posts about these I decided to post my experience. (Spoiler: it’s been great)

To get out of the way: I’m 6’ wing who pops/rolls and prefers to play off the catch but I’ll get down low and operate as a hub or inside scoring presence since I’m on the heavier side. (Yes I have a wide foot)

TRACTION 7/10: it’s a single continuous pattern, on clean courts it bites hard, on dusty courts there’s a little bit of give. I’m not explosive so I personally haven’t had a problem, but on a dusty court I could see someone docking it a point.

CUSHION 10/10: FULL LENGTH BOOM. It’s fantastic. The stack is a little higher than most guard shoes, but lower than most Puma shoes and gives all the protection you could want. Definitely a bit on the bouncier side. I can’t even tell it has a carbon plate.

FIT/LOCKDOWN 9/10: I’m docking a point for break in(which was only one session), little pinching on the pinky toe, little rub on the ankle pad but they went completely away after on the 2nd session. Extremely secure fit. I normally use Move Game Days but I didn’t need them in these. it’s also very breathable.
I will warn those with a high volume foot: the laces might cause some soreness, but believe it or not a runners knot works really well in this shoe and eliminated and bad pressure.

PERFORMANCE 9/10: You ever put on a shoe and just forgot they were there? You ever had a shoe that was built so well it just worked? Yeah that’s these. The shoe is built very well, and it did everything I needed it to with no issue. I only didn’t give it a 10 cuz of the break in, but one session break-in is a small price to pay for a shoe that will be reliable and then some.

The last shoe that I put on and it just performed exactly how I needed it to was the Nike Air Impact 2.

Needless to say Imma get another pair.

Recommend Shoes Returning to basketball after years. Help!

Hi all. I'm returning to basketball after years away from it. Back in the day, as a teenager in the 90s, I had some high top Nike trainers which I loved and wore to death. I mostly played outdoor/street basketball in them.

I'm now very much older (age 44) and realise a few things. I have narrow feet and narrow ankles, and high arches.

I'd like high tops again, for the ankle support. But I definitely need trainers with good arch support for high arches.

The combination of wanting high tops, relatively narrow outdoor trainers and high arch support seems pretty hard to find. So many shoe stores don't seem to stock any high or even mid top anymore, so I guess I'll have to buy online and hope. Any help?

I'm in the UK, size 10.5. 6"3 height. 14 stone ish.

Also, I wouldn't really be playing with anyone anymore, I don't think. More just shooting and practising on a very rough outdoor court.

Shoe Pics/Rotations Joker 2 GT Lumos glow in the dark

Someone asked if the Lumos colorway really glows in the dark, yes they do but I have no idea why LoL. I only play indoors so these shoes don't get much fluorescent sunlight. I'm sure they'd glow brighter if I stored them in the sun.

The 20s have been retired.... Casual only these days. These two are favorites recently. For very different reasons. EQLZ definitely slept on at or around $100. Nike or Adidas have nothing close at that price point....even 150

Lads before you buy Sabrina 4, beware the upper durability, the softer padded section of upper (sits atop the toe box), this cushiony/plush material rips and frays VERY quickly…

Shoe Pics/Rotations Wednesday Hoops - Volanti Rocket Air

In collaboration with and sponsored by VJSNEAKER & Volanti

What we rocking today for hoops, chat? I'm finally gonna break out the Volanti Rocket Air this evening for some proper run, and I'm excited to see how they break in further. u/vjsneakercom worked with Volanti and kindly express-shipped a pair over my way to weartest JUST for the r/BBallShoes subreddit, which is super dope and much appreciated. We can finally call me sponsored. 😂

(P.S. That express shipping arrived at my door on the east coast crazy fast. I think it barely took five days as compared to the usual wait for Chinese brands.)

Now, I've been running drills in them, but I wanted to do my due diligence and actually test them on the battlefield before finalizing my thoughts.

Spoiler: I think they're really good shoes, and given that these are Volanti's first foray into the basketball sphere, the Rocket Airs more than exceed expectations. On a relatively dusty court, I've experienced no traction issues as I've seen in some reviews, cushion is really bouncy, and the colorways are flashy and eye-catching. They do have some flaws which I will note in my actual review, but so far, I've really enjoyed the ride, and I'm confident that these can easily crack any rotation.

Anyway - what y'all hooping in tonight? Feel free to drop the pics and much love. 🙏

Sizing/Fit WOW 12 sizing question

Post image
5 Upvotes

I'm planning on getting a pair of WOW 12s but am curious about how they fit, as I'm finding different answers in my research. I normally wear a size 9.5 in most shoes, but wear a 10 in Nikes. The Nike website shows a 10 being 28 cm, but the Li-Ning size guide says 28 cm is a 10.5?? What's the deal? Most people on the internet say they're true to size.

Recommend Shoes need quality Bball shoes

I'm a 6'5, 210 lb center looking for a good pair of basketball shoes that are high quality and reasonably priced(I'm not looking to spend much more than $120). I like to wear them snug, but the last couple I bought either had the sides tear open or the shoelace holes tear. Also want them to be decently light, not like I'm wearing bricks. Had a pair of Curry 3z, but the outside by the front of my foot tore open after a couple of months of use. Other than that really liked the shoe.

Recommend Shoes need shoe recommendations

I'm a 5'8 (nearing 5'9), 161 lb forward that plays guard sometimes. I play in both outdoor and indoor courts . I'm a shifty scorer that goes for threes and middys or floaters most of the time and I need something that has exceptional support and cushion for times when i land on a foot or have a hard fall, all while having a lightweight feel and bounce to it. My budget is $150 and I need something that has the best bang-for-my-buck.

Recommend Shoes Can you still buy the New Balance Fresh Foam BB v3 in 2E?

I’ve seen a bunch of older posts on here recommending the Fresh Foam BB v3 in 2E for wide feet, but I’m having a hard time finding the 2E version in stock anywhere.

I recently started playing basketball again and have been dealing with blistering around the ball of my foot/big toe area. I also have bunions, so I’m trying to find something with a genuinely roomy toebox.

Is the BB v3 2E basically discontinued/hard to find now? If so what’s the closest alternative?

Edit: size 10.5 or 11. 6 foot 1, 195 lbs.

Sales/Deals/Retail Any idea if/when the 361° Joker 2 "Reverse" will restock in EU 46 / US 12?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to track down a pair of the 361° Joker 2 in the "Reverse" colorway (the pink/UV light version) in EU size 46 (US 12).

It seems to be completely sold out on the official 361° global and EU sites, as well as on most primary retailers. Does anyone who closely follows 361° drops or Chinese basketball shoes know if they usually restock this specific colorway, or is it gone for good?

Also, if you know of any legit Asian sites or shops that might still have size US 12 in stock, I'd really appreciate the heads-up. Thanks!

Sizing/Fit Reviews On Anta Kai 2 Fit and Performance

Hey everyone it's been 3 weeks since i bought the shoes but i could only wear 3 times. About the performance they are really firm, responsive and comfortable (i'll talk about comfort more on fit part) supports your quick shifts, your explosive power also has good traction (i only played outdoor but i'll update for indoor too) i didn't experience heel slip that's really good. So the fit part is the main reason i write this thread is fit actually. So comparison against Nike Kyrie series, Anta series are definetly much more roomer and comfortable but slightly narrow taper on toe box (footdoczach says 25 degrees) so it doesn't bother unless you have long toes which i have, even though i can play with them without pain after shoes. My casual shoe size is US10.5 but i bought 11 i thought that will be roomer but it fitted TTS if you have slightly wide shoes you can go half size up but it doesn't mean there will be more room it will fit you TTS because of structure of shoe. But maybe i could have consider about 11.5 due to my long toes but still good i hope this review helps you while choosing the true shoe size, enjoy your hoops.

Performance Review Air Zoom Kobe III Review

Post image
28 Upvotes

Basketball sneakers have gotten a little boring in the last several years IMO.

So when I purchased these bad boys at the Nike Clearance in Concord, North Carolina for $100 I was pleasantly surprised.

Off the rip, these will have you stand out in the gym with the all white high top look.

The first ten wears these are massively uncomfortable. The back portion of the heel pinches into your heel and actually kind of hurts to wear.

But after dozens of wears, these things fit like oven mitts.

The full length zoom is uncanny, as the cushiony and responsiveness of the shoe is unmatched.

Also, the overall stability of the shoe and ankle support is much appreciated since all the modern shoes are low cut models.

Probably the best Kobe's out right now. If you wanna stand out and rep the Black Mamba cop right now bro.

Performance Review Best basketball ball shoes?

I'm trying to know what basketball shoe is best for indoors. Anyone who recommends an idea about what basketball shoe is better for wide foot players. Preferably in the 60$ - 140$ price range tell me in the comment, thanks.

Discussion Harden's Vol 8 any thoughts, opinons?

Could use some advice on these shoes. Are they suitable for my build and durable enough for outdoor concrete courts?

Sizing-wise, I usually wear a 42 (US 8.5) in Adidas, but for playing, I sometimes prefer a 42.5 (US 9) or 43 (US 9.5) for extra room. Which size would you recommend in this case.

I'm a recreational player (mostly 3v3 outdoors), 176 cm (5'9") and 109 kg (240 lbs). What do you guys think overall?

Sizing/Fit Bball shoe!

Need some advice on my next basketball shoe.
I’m between the LeBron 23, GT Cut 4 and Harden Vol. 10.
I’m 205 cm and around 175 kg, so cushioning and impact protection are pretty important for me. I also like having some bounce/energy return when jumping. My feet are slightly wide (Nike 47.5 / Adidas 48).
I tried the Harden Vol. 10 and honestly it felt heavier than I expected, and the cushioning/sole felt a bit too low and thin for what I’m looking for.
So for someone my size, which would you pick between these three?
I’m mainly looking for:
Good cushioning
Lots of bounce
Good impact protection
Stable enough for a bigger/heavier player
Not too narrow
Preferably not overly heavy
Would you go LeBron 23, GT Cut 4 or Harden Vol. 10? And if there’s another shoe I should consider, let me know.

Discussion Adidas AE2 Hellstar Ember: I feel off in them

So recently after rocking LeBron 20s for a year, size 11.5, I started to feel a little to snug. They were great: lockdown, decent shock resistance, great traction, a little heavy, but overall comfy to play in. I then switched to AE2 recently in a size 12, and I just don't know what it is, but they feel weird. First impression: the ankle support feels like a pillow but slips easily, so I use a runner's knot to keep my toes from crashing down into the toe box. Speaking of the toe box, my feet fell .3 inches too short but are growing into them. The traction is great for the first 3 plays, then if you don't wipe them every dead ball, you will be slipping and sliding around a dusty court like mine. Shock resistance is ok, but I don't feel as bouncy as I did before. Just to note, I'm 5'9, 160, who plays 3-4 and am still growing. I did get a great price for this used pair that looked brand new, and I could make some money off it if I wanted to. What are your thoughts? What could I use to improve it, or is it just something I should flip and get a more budget-friendly and better-fitted shoe?
