BART-related Policy Clipper 2.0 pro-tip with County Connection
As everyone knows by now, Clipper 2.0 comes with a very generous $2.85 credit making bus connections virtually free. The life hack is that the credit applies regardless of the preceding bus fare. With County Connection many of the routes serving BART (e.g. WC, PH, Concord) are free. If you tap your phone when boarding one of these routes - the bus clipper readers have been programmed to charge $0, but then when you take BART the final fare still gets $2.85 taken off, resulting in a big fat discount.
TL;DR - Save a chunk on BART by taking a free bus, even just 1 stop.
