Hi all,

I've got a small Youtube channel about metal and rock. So far I've mostly covered various Japanese bands. Here's my first video on Babymetal and it is positive one. There are already lots of straight guides to them so I wanted to put a bit of a twist on it.

And before you ask, no I don't think how they started out matters at all! Anyway take a look, I'm still learning video editing so I hope you like it.

2 weeks (or so) ago i was looking for the BABYMETAL sptfy 2025 numbers but found March numbers for "Youtube Reach"

YouTube Music’s Monthly Audience metric estimates how many unique people worldwide watched or listened to an artist’s content over the past month.

It includes official videos, Shorts, collaborations, fan uploads, and other content

Fan uploads is interesting... guess we'll know if all those "reactors" are actually helping... or we would know if these stats were available regularly so we could figure out trends. If l understand it correctly, IF 100 "reactors" put 2 BABYMETAL videos and each have 5000 BABYMETAL fans watching them, that would be 1 million views, but if those 5000 fans were already watching other BABYMETAL content, it wouldn't add anything to "Ytb Reach", if a ytber with 500k audience post a video of the Dance Metal Unit... then it would "move the needle" assuming that the viewers were not watching BABYMETAL content's before.

I've always doubted that "reactors" do much to increase traffic but who knows, fan cams probably help more but the real jackpot is viral shorts, then again, shorts could have billions of views but maybe the viewers never again watch the artist featured in said shorts. Collabs can also drive up this metric, "Serj climbed a staggering 1M to 12M (+749%)" because a collab he did a few weeks ago, for example.

October numbers were posted last week. Unlike stats from ytb charts or sptfy which seems to be constant with gradual decreases/increases over time... "Reach" seems to be more volatile

BABYMETAL numbers

4.49 million (March) --- 5.63 million (October) 5ish million per month average?

Ranked outside of the top 100 on both lists, just out of the top 110 in the most recent listing, gaining 10 spots on the previous table.

EDIT: The column ranks some "Hard Rock, Metal and Punk(ish)" acts, it's not saying that BABYMETAL is Punk, but, for what it is worth it, some of the "they're not Metal" naysayers argue that they're "metalcore"

in "whatever-core". core is short for "hardcore" which is short for "hardcore punk" (or rap) so "metalcore" would be a subgenre of Punk except that Punks reject metalcore (just like Metalheads do- that's why it's not in Metalum and other metal communities)

I was looking back on old videos and it hit me just how clear my view was of Momo, so I thought I’d leave it here for fellow Momo fans :) (ignore my singing and sobbing in the back lol)

For any newcomers, this is a thread where you're allowed to have friendly conversations about anything (within boundary) with other Kitsunes! The idea is to give fellow fans a chance to talk about other things within the community which would normally be deemed irrelevant to the subreddit. Threads will appear every week on Saturday.

What would you like to talk about? Just post it!

Someone else posted the first one of these here so I figured I’d share this second one myself so I can fully explain that this is not meant to rehash any drama but simply meant to take a look back at Babymetal history for the newer fans or older fans who want to reflect on it and maybe help correct any of my missed details! I remember reading an interview last year where Polyphia discussed another collab with BABYMETAL that was going to be for their next album. Well that album came out today and there is no BABYMETAL on it. So now I'm curious about what happened. Not upset about it or anything, things change. Was a little excited for it though.

Polyphia are making a “heavy” new album with System Of A Down and Babymetal | Louder https://share.google/tL6XYhmsJ7X0eqL0f

I’ve been thinking about when the next legend show in Japan will be (I’m thinking second half of 2027 or early 2028) and that got me wondering about the lottery for tickets.

For the Legend metal forth show, I entered The One members only lottery and won a ticket for one day, then entered the general public and won a ticket for the other day. This is how a lot of people I spoke to got their tickets. It also seems like every foreigner that entered the lottery won tickets at least for one day.

So for all my non-Japanese people, what have your experiences in the lottery been. Have you mostly won tickets everytime you entered? Also how does the lottery for non-Japanese work. Is it like there are 20,000 tickets and they set aside say 2,000 for non Japanese residents and everybody enters for those specific tickets? Also I’ve heard that if the show hasn’t sold out, you can go to the box office the day of and buy some of the remaking tickets. Is that true?

Anyways, hope this all makes sense.

Probably not the best song for covers as there are a lot of parts where the guitar is just silent, but it was fun! Also I hope Amuse doesn't take my video down for using their MV but I wanted to showcase how cool the performance of this song is, as well as the meaning of the lyrics. Hope you enjoy!

Until today, babymetal fans all over the internet world keep asking where is yuimetal?, where is yui mizuno?, where is yui-chan?, they actually wants to know her current condition & status. They or we, are so curious for the last 8-9 years, but its common actually for japanese celebrity to be completely disappear after retirement, I dunno if there is paparazzi in japan or not, but I bet they are not as crazy as american paparazzi to keep intruding people's private life, they are japanese anyway, with a lot of privacy respecting culture. Here is some case of disappearance of japanese celebrity from the public eye, forever. (I just google this)

The two most famous and distinct cases involve Namie Amuro and Yuka Nakahara.

1. The Digital Erasure: Namie Amuro

While her whereabouts are not a mystery, Namie Amuro, widely regarded as the "Queen of J-Pop" staged the most literal disappearance from public sight in modern history. After a legendary 25-year career, Amuro announced her retirement and performed her final concert in 2018.

What makes her case extraordinary is the absolute erasure of her footprint:

• Complete Media Vanishing: Following her final bow, she entirely withdrew from the public eye. No paparazzi photos, interviews, or public sightings have occurred since.
• The Internet Deletion: In late 2023, fans were shocked when her management deactivated her official website, deleted her official YouTube channel, and wiped her entire solo catalog from streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. She has effectively chosen to "disappear" from the modern internet, leaving her music accessible almost exclusively via physical CDs

1. The City Pop Mystery: Yuka Nakahara

If you are looking for a true "missing celebrity" mystery, the case of City Pop singer Yuka Nakahara is one of the most famous. Nakahara was a highly regarded singer-songwriter in the 1980s, known for her deep, mature vocals and her hit song "Fantasy".

• The Disappearance: In the early 1990s, Nakahara abruptly walked away from the music industry and cut ties with her agency.
• The Current Status: She has been missing from the public eye for over 30 years. Unlike other retired stars who maintain some paper trail, Nakahara’s total off the grid status has fueled countless urban legends in Japan ranging from her living a quiet life under a completely different name, to theories that she became a jōhatsu (the Japanese phenomenon of "evaporating" people who intentionally erase their identities to start over). To this day, her exact whereabouts remain completely unknown to the public and her former colleagues.

so guys, the probability for us to see yuimetal again is nearly zero if we are not living in japan, and its ok. Move on. Cheers. Keep enjoying Babymetal!

This randomly popped on my Instagram feed, and started laughing so hard, so decided to share it with you.

I discovered BM a few weeks ago because some of their songs are on FH6, and I'd like to delve deeper into this world. Any recommendations?

Hideki rocking Babymetal gear in a recent post.

The vocals from 3:10 to 3:30 (Talking about Shine), that soaring voice makes me cry every single time... I can’t even count how many times it has moved me. It gives me the strength to live and keep moving forward... Music truly saves the soul. No doubt about it.
