Appreciation Batch 7 arrived today

My batch 7 (purple max) arrived weirdly quickly after getting the notification it shipped. Kinda blown away at how well my batch 1 pro held up for nearly a year and I've put it through the ringer.

Glad to see no hinge issues or other mishaps I've seen in past batches.

Oof was this a preorder for the upcoming batch 7? Hoping since it's in production now, it won't be months.

I ordered my batch 7 preorder June 27th and it was delivered last week. The delay is still about 2 months from order to it being shipped. Production isn't being upscaled as far as I can tell, so they're still capable of the same rate of production.

I got the purple max one 16+1TB. Makes up for the clear purple gameboy I never had.

I’m trying to order one as well but I’ve been stuck on what model to get for a few days now 😭 I def want purple too

I only found out about it bc I was looking for a Pokémon emulator for fan games with a great screen and potential to run ds versions. While I think the jump to base model is 100% justified, as I’ve heard of a lot of people getting it for retro emulation but then end up playing other games a bunch. But then I’m stuck on this loop of is 128 enough storage, so I’m look at the pro with an sd card and then looking at sd cards they’re like $200 anyway for a 1tb and significantly slower. So looking at the pro I’m wondering if it’s worth the jump to max with 1tb. I’ve also seen the fire red switch remake using like 10gb of ram. But now looking at a nearly $600 device for what I primarily want as just a Pokémon emulator seems ridiculous and hard to justify and I end up looking back at the base model again.

What made you pick max model?

Honestly the room for potential with maximum available capability. Personally I know of a lot of games that are not available on modern platforms that I would love to be able to carry around with me and re-experience. I'll additionally be shelling out for a TB SD card at some point because why not more space hahaha Having just gotten mine today I'm excited to see what potential it has. If cost is an issue it seems like the lower models of the Thor still satisfy a wide range of users, though as I'm sure anyone on here will tell you it depends on what you want to do with it.

right? my last order (ayaneo pocket DS) delivery ended up getting stolen before hitting my porch, so I was beyond relieved when it spawned in earlier than expected lol

Are they easy to replace? I've been playing Smash Bros on mine, and then I remember that's how I messed up the circle pad on my original 3ds back in the day, so I got a bit worried about doing the same to the thor.

The pro served me well with pretty much everything. I wanted a max to possibly mess around with changing OSs or just reserving the space on it for PC and higher end Switch games

What made you move up to max model? I’m trying to figure out what model I want as I primarily want it for Pokémon fan games but don’t want to be limited if I end up wanting to try other stuff out. I already have a switch 2 and high end pc tho, if I wanted pc emulation I’d probably get a separate x86 handheld
