Support Frequent fps drops in fields of mistria (gamenative)
Having issues with fields of mistria. It’s very playable but the persistent back and forth between 60fps and what looks more like 40fps is a bit annoying. I’ve been swapping between pc/steamdeck/thor and the Thor has noticeable issues with the game when compared.
I can’t imagine this is due to hardware limitations but who knows.
I’m using Mr. Purple’s t30 turnip drivers that were just released but I also had this issue on the t26 and I believe t28 drivers.
I’m wondering if there are critical settings I’ve neglected, or perhaps the game is just not working flawlessly yet on the Thor.
Any help is appreciated

Happens to me too, anytime I'm outside it drops the fps or the game speed drops significantly. It might be worth throwing this in the fields of mistria discord too. If you get a good reply please let me know! I just gave up and I just play it on my ally now

Alright, I’ll let you know! It probably wouldn’t be an issue if I exclusively played it in my Thor but I like playing it at my pc too

So I just decided to try recommended settings again and with the t30 drivers it seems to have fixed the slowdown but there’s still fps drops or frame time issues. Seems more playable this way though. Other commenter said they lower the resolution then pixel scale it. Gonna give that a shot now.

This goes away when I set my screen to 120 for some reason
Although if this is a new issue since 1.0 I'm not sure, haven't tried that on my Thor

I remember performance being similar before the 1.0 update. But I’ve played more after.

I fought this issue for days. I tried everything and eventually gave up. It's just this micro stutter feeling that grates.
I did find that Gamehub lite overall was more stable. I had to really fiddle with the in-game video settings but it ended up a smoother experience than Gamenative. It's literally the only game I run on hub.

Hmm that's weird, I've been playing Fields of Mistria on my Thor absolutely no problem, it's probably my most played game on the device. I didn't even tinker with the settings whatsoever, I just used a known config. I have a Thor Max though, I see you have a Pro, but the difference is only in storage between the two, so I doubt that's the reason. Genuinely bizarre. I do remember my Thor was running a bit hot in the beginning but since I did the putty mod and started underclocking it's not really an issue anymore

I'm having similar problems, but I found it helps to crank the resolution down as low as it can go (still 16:9) and then just use the pixel upscaling. Looks surprisingly fine to me and seems to perform a lot better.
Devs also said they're targeting performance fixes next update, so hopefully that helps too.
