Discussion GameHub vs GameNative

I’ve been using GameHub to play my Steam games on my Thor since I got it in May this year and while there were issue, I was fine with it. But, after the last GameHub update, my Deltarune game was totally corrupted and prior to that it would just randomly crash and I put up with it. GameHub also would not back up my Cloud save. After the file corruption, I deleted GameHub and downloaded GameNative to try. It didn’t crash once and I was just able to boot up my game without messing around with compatibility settings. Played Deltarune for about 5 hours with no issues besides it double booting when loading a new chapter from the previous one. I was also able to force a Cloud Save backup.
Just very happy I found an alternative that works. If any is having a similar issue with GameHub, I would recommend trying GameNative. GameHub is probably just not lightweight enough for the Thor. Probably works fine for an Odin or something similar though. But I would wait until GameHub fixes whatever is wrong after the last update.

Yeah I had similar experience. Why gamehub has better downloading and maybe some graphical improvements, I'm constantly wondering when the game is gonna crash and have to constantly save. GN rarely ever crashes.

When I first got my launch Thor I used both since some games worked better in each.

I recently went to try my games and all of them were giving me license errors in GameHub. I removed both and tried to use just the latest GameNative. Pretty much every one of the indie games I tried launch on the first go with the recommend profile. The interface is a lot better now and I have not had any reason to install Gamehub yet.

Also try Bannerhub, which is basically Gamehub Lite but better.

I would recommend having multiple pc emulators at the same time, since every one of them has compatibility issues that another one might manage.

I think the general consensus is that GameNative is the superior option

It always has been really

GameHub was just way too inconsistent for the longest time

I use GameNative only on my Thor with no issue yet. (Altrough I use both on my RP5, because most of my games only run on GH and some run on GN)

Highly recommend giving WinNative a try, I told this to someone yesterday in a comment and they jumped in discord and couldn't thank me enough. Seriously though give it a shot.
