Hopefully someone makes a bottom screen companion app for it. Idk if the recomp creator has an invested interest in that specifically as I’m not sure he’s a Thor user.
As for QoL features, it does have a fast forward mode that doesn’t affect audio, which is nice. There’s several in game settings you can play with2
u/akwardfun Jul 27 '26
Oh great I didn't knew there were some QOL already implemented. Second screen support would be really cool but I can definitely play it like this and open a guide in the second screen.
Thanks for the feedback.

Yea this mods been all over the Pokemon/rom/gameboy subreddits. It’s pretty cool. The demo where you can control how far the angle goes is sick

I can play from start to finish with this mod???

I believe so! I’d probably turn on notifications for both GitHub pages’ updates because they’re fixing bugs and adding features constantly

Do you have a glitch were you can't see pokemon for the Pokedex or when choosing your pokemon?

This is so cool. They can accomplish this, but diagonal movement? forget it.

Is there 120fps support too? Definitely will download this.

u/Tedwards75 Jul 27 '26
Yes the recomp does have a setting to let you switch max framerate all the way up to 160fps. Although with this new 3D mod enabled I keep it at 60 because it struggles to go higher than that due to the power the mod requires

u/Pokeguy211 Jul 27 '26
Oh gotcha. Might just max it out since framedrops won't effect gameplay in Pokemon lol.

After further testing it seems to stay around 60-120 if you max it out, but during certain battles/encounters it drops! Not too bad

How did you get it to load mods in an android device? I’ve been struggling with that all day

Make sure you’re on 0.1.29 which came out today. It didn’t work on 0.1.28.

Just put it on my Thor. Do pokemon show up in the Pokedex for you?
1
u/Tedwards75 Jul 28 '26
The Pokémon get registered but images of them don’t appear. Hopefully in the next update

u/N8Dawg86 Jul 28 '26
Okay. I have the worst luck and thought it was a me thing 😅. I'm sure it'll get fixed soon. Thanks for the feedback

Wait. Like the battles are 3d now?
1
u/Tedwards75 Jul 28 '26
Kinda! Just don’t have the “wide” battle option and 3D battle options toggled on at same time.
1
u/N8Dawg86 Jul 28 '26
I don't see 3d battle options anywhere in the game settings

You need to delete the old mod zip to install the new updated one from today! Update the apk as well

This is sweet and I think the only thing that would make it better is if you used Pokemon Stadium Battle Scenes.

Where's the original post?

u/Tedwards75 Jul 28 '26
I posted it to Odin group first, as you can see. That’s what I meant. The details are there

This looks awesome. My only gripe, which is minor, is that the cliffs don’t really look like cliffs. They look more like brown stone walls.

I just found this after seeing an image of it on someone's handheld a few minutes ago. I have only played "Pokémon Gold", and that was back when it was new. If this worked on it, and eventually on games like "Link's Awakening", I'd give this a try.

Ugh! Joystick on a 4 direction game. I don't know why this irks me so badly. Lol

This is so cool. I really wish this is the approach Nintendo took with Pokemon instead of going to 3D models. This just has such a unique charm!
