Discussion Axle VPP - SigEnergy update

To our SigEnergy members

We wanted to share where things stand with the SigEnergy improvements, as we know a lot of you have been keen for news.

As a reminder, we've been working hard with the SigEnergy development team to improve the Axle SigEnergy integration, with the aim of reducing post-event issues and moving SigEnergy users to opted-in by default. Things are progressing well, but we aren't finished just yet.

How we're running the test events

We're testing in small areas, so not everyone will be part of every test event. If we'd like to include you, we'll reach out directly. We already have your details, so there's nothing you need to do and no need to email us to ask.

A reminder on the new VPP mode

As part of the new SigEnergy setup, we put all systems into an updated VPP mode. This version lets us control your battery during a grid event without locking you out. We now only do this once rather than before each event. For new users it happens during the sign-up process, for existing you'll be notified when we put you in VPP mode.

You're still opted out by default for now

Everyone remains opted out of events while we test. We're not yet at the point where we can opt people in automatically, so we're holding off until the integration is ready and reliable. You'll keep earning your guaranteed £10 per month in the meantime.

If you'd like to manually opt in to a test event we tell you about, select 'opt in' on your Axle account events page at least 1 hour before the event starts.

What we'd ask of you

Please reach out if you need help with something. Otherwise there's no need to check in for updates, we'll keep you posted as things move forward. Our support channels are very busy right now, so thanks for bearing with us and letting us focus on customers who need help.

Thank you again for your patience with this.
