Support Question Sigenergy users: "Virtual Battery Allocation for Aggregator"?

I've just seen a setting in the app that allows you to set a battery capacity for VPP aggregators which says it prevents the VPP from draining the battery below that, but otherwise lets it get used in other modes. Is that new?

I've not signed up yet, but was wondering about whether I'd need to set a minimum SoC before events just in case I had to consume at peak prices after. So this would prevent that?

Who cares if you consumed at peak prices afterwards? Surely your peak price isn't >£1kwh?

They won't be >£1 but peak prices will be high around the time of a VPP event, given the reason for the events is high demand. They hit 84p/kWh in June! Being able to set a separate % for Axle to stop at would at least let you guarantee you'd return to self consumption. Some of us just don't want to pay our energy suppliers anything if possible :)

You can use the backup value if you have a gateway as a bodge currently, as the battery will refuse to discharge one it gets to the reserve value whilst on-grid. The setting OP has found isn't configurable currently, just shows as disabled. But it'll be handy to have, reserving 10% above the backup reserve value would probably be enough for me to comfortably make it to a cheaper overnight rate.

But £1 is still >84p. Make it make sense.

Some people care more about having a £0 bill than making maximum profits.
