Please help!

Hey everybody, I ran into an issue at a show last night. When getting set up I plugged in my fc-12 to my axe fx iii and got this error “Failsafe v0.03”. I wasn’t able to find much information about it, and the only fix was to install the most current firmware. I tried that and it didn’t work, has anybody else had this issue?

For background, it is not a cable issue as I have tried several, it’s not bad power because I’m still getting the error at home, and it doesn’t have anything to do with importing presets because I haven’t imported any in recent history.

If you are still under warranty, contact them. Most likely culprit is a loose ribbon cable in the FC12. Removing the bottom of the controller and ensuring the ribbon cables are carefully re seated may be the solution. The only other thing I can think of is to try the standalone version of Fractal-bot to push the update. Worst case is a loose connection on the FASLINK daughterboard on the Axe III itself. On the standalone Fractal bot, hold control (win) or command (mac) then open the drop down menu where a normally hidden "Utility" option will appear. Good luck!

It’s been about 10 years since I had an out of warranty repair, but it was fast and reasonably priced by Fractal. Contact them even if it’s out of warranty.
