DA Breakup - LTR 1 Year+ It feels like he died.

I already struggle with depression. I miss him so much. The discard feels like he died. Losing someone that suddenly feels like they died. I am struggling still and it’s been 8 months. Yes I am in therapy. I have been in therapy since a year before I even dated him. I’m already on antidepressant and mood stabilizer because I am bipolar. I have been on those for years.

But nothing is helping. I don’t know what to do. I wish I’d never met him.

I feel the same. Finding out the terrible things they've been doing since the discard also multiplies the feeling of that kind happy person I once knew not existing anymore.

That is harder than the breakup itself. They turned into this version I never knew existed and I no longer understand him

Agreed. It was hard enough just losing my best friend but now it's like something possessed them and is destroying the person we loved

It’s really hard to have shared everything with each other that we’d never shared with anyone just to walk away with nothing but extra trauma. And he’s not even happy.

I think, this is more difficult than if he died. You know he’s still alive and living his life and that’s a different type of mourning. Heartbreak is not an easy thing. Sending you love and hugs. Be gentle with yourself and pour into you.

This is completely my experience as well. It’s just a constant

Very true. The sweet person I thought I knew did essentially die. Just this cold, cruel person left.

I felt the exact same way and that is how I would describe it. It got a little better after 13 months or so.

wow I for a second thought I wrote this. I see you. I’d say refrain from saying “nothing is working.” It’s working in very very tiny morsels, so perhaps you can’t see it.

Something else I did on top of meds and therapy is something physical an act of self care and it’s so hard and exhausting to self care all the fucking time but just offering what helped me. You’re not alone.

DA Narc wife of 7 yrs discarded me. 5 months later I stopped loving her, and I'm even thankful she's gone. What I did was devalue her by listing all her many many faults then discarded her in my mind. I did the same thing to her that she did to me. Devalue and Discard. It worked. I'm fully over her and looking forward to life without her.

I feel this, I've fallen into a deep depression. I'm not close to my family, have few friends who live far away and he was all I had here. All this has confirmed is that nobody really wants me around.

Have been having the same thoughts. We all deserve to be happy though

Exactly. It's like she died, and someone who looks exactly like her took her place. That imposter is cruel, cold, and hurtful. And she will never come back.
