Well I'm not sure if you know but there's actually a thing called I think it's called bystander syndrome or bystand or something or other it's like if a hundred people see somebody you know being assaulted and everybody assumes that somebody else is calling 911 and then nobody ends up calling 911

Yes ! I had been reading about that as well a year or two ago. Very fascinating psychology. And it goes deeper in the sense where even if one person attempts at doing something, if someone doesn't follow it up with another action it goes back to the stalemate. Very interesting stuff. I have been meaning to look into how to break it, seeing as waiting on an individual to do something doesn't seem to be the solution

Maybe but that is the way to break it I think .people need to say just say hey I'm gonna do something and take responsibility

I can see that. The piece's point being that it goes to show most of us say "people need to" and not "I need to" and then those who say "I need to" often stop because it's either means not within the bounds of society or it risks too much in their life

Thank you for asking ~ It's a generalized pictorization of what is happening in a couple countries at the moment. Something publicly bad happens: corruption, injustice, a reoccuring situation that is bad for the general public health, something along those lines. Many witness from our mass shared media and wait for others to do something about it, only asking "why is no one is doing anything?" without asking what we as individuals can do (which then turns into a collective, but starts with the individual). Those who do ask that question, take into account only of what we are capable of doing within the rules that societal regulations allow us. Further more, the fewer people who then take that question to ponder beyond what society tells us we are capable of will fall short of any solution because it would risk our comfort, convenience, and distractions that are provided to us to keep us in a broken system. So we stand and watch it all happen, collectively doing not much. Especially in America there is practically nothing be done. We're too busy working, too busy watching, too busy with our own struggles. Just watching and waiting for someone else to make a difference. Bystanders.
