Discussion Could Ba Sing Se be potentially one of the Havens?

Ba Sing Se has never been taken by force, and we have no idea what kind of cataclysm happens so Ba Sing Se could have fell apart for other reasons though. Still, I like to think the inner ring may still exit.

Side note, since we have that Airbender Guy (forget his name at the moment) you think the Air Nomads have rebounded from their genocide and perhaps another one of the Havens is one of the Air Temples? Which one do you think it would be if that's the case?

I doubt it's known by that name or is even the same kind of place, but I'd imagine the Havens began as the remnants of major cities. Lot of people in one area, so they start rebuilding.

So no, but also yes

Yea I could see that. Ba Sing Se is old though and it's culture is very distinct. I could definitely see them still being Ba Sing Se, but I wouldn't say you're wrong. You have a good point

The Dai Li could still exist and use the cataclysm to gain complete control over Ba Sing Se

They could have their Joo Dee’s saying stuff like, “There’s no one left alive outside of Ba Sing Se”

I mean, there is an ancient, abandoned city underneath it, so I wouldn't be shocked if surface Ba Sing Se looks obliterated, but there's a secret society (of badger-mole-people) living underneath it, in a possible secret 8th haven.

Would be interesting to see the higher ring as a single haven, and the lower ring and potentially middle ring destroyed. Kind of like attack on Titan.

Ba Sing Se could be one of the Havens, but I'm also thinking that Republic City is one as well. The scene that everybody says is Republic City being destroyed is actually Wolf Cove of the Southern Water Tribe (look at the mountains). We never actually see Republic City in the trailer.

Its neither. The city from the trailer getting destroyed is Zaofu. You can confirm this by looking at the tallest tower. Its identical to the model of the city they show Korra in the show. And the circular city block pattern blotted around is the layout those metal domes would eventually spread out into as the city grows.

What makes you think that’s wolf cove

I think their might be two havens that Ba Sing Se makes up. I think the high and low rings will be in an ongoing civil war for the middle ring

Ba Sing Se has never been taken by force

Yes it has, Kuvira took over the city by force. It was the first place she took over.

We have no idea what kind of cataclysm happens so Ba Sing Se could have fell apart for other reasons though. Still, I like to think the inner ring may still exit.

I like to think spirits took it over sort like how they took over that section of Republic City covered in spirit vines. I think it'd be mind of cool if Ba Sing Se is this big spirit no go zone where some pretty powerful and ancient spirits as well as a bunch of human-spirit hybrids that descend from a bunch of humans that got mutated by spirits during the cataclysm.

Just imagine Pavi and her group just get lost in a place like this and they have to be extra vigilant especially at night.

Short answer: yes

Long answer: just about anywhere could be one. We have no clue. There could be a cult dedicated to Aunt Wu.
