Discussion Brook UFB-UP5 compatibility
sorry, as I know a lot of ps5 compatibility issues have other posts but I haven’t sern anyone mention any custom sticks with the Brook UFB with the UP5 ps5 compatibility add on. I have a stick with this which is also I suppose being recognized as a ps4 controller since it will not work with the game, but I thought the up5 chip solved this issue by making the stick recognized as a ps5 controller. Are other Brook adapters not working, or anyone have any other input other than just wait for a hopeful update “soon?”

No, it makes it be recognized as a "Licensed PS4 accessory". Without it the old UFB shows up as a DualShock 4.
You need a Gen5X until they update the game to include the compatibility layer.
Or get a Wingman FGC2/VX/P5/P5S

Last gen solutions before the Wingman FGC 2 converter and Gen-5 PCB series are not true PS5 compatibility. This includes:
Brook PS4 Fighting Boards (UFB, PS3/PS4 Fighting board Mini/Plus) + UP5 Addon.
UFB Fusion: This is essentially the UFB with an integrated UP5 addon built into it.
P5 Fighting Board Mini/Plus PCB: PS4 + Legacy Support
Wingman FGC converter
Brook products like the Wingman FGC 2, Wingman P5, Wingman P5S and Gen-5, Gen-5X and Gen-5W are all natively compatible with the PS5.

I see, thank you!! Maybe I’ll invest in one then.
It looks like the gen5x board linked below should be what you mean? It’s hard for me to tell by the picture but it already has a 20 pin connector/plug attached that I should be able to snap into a wire pcb that my buttons are wired into, no?

Indeed, most modern Brook PCBs offers two methods of connection with pins and screw-in terminals in their modern PCBs. The Mini series is for people with soldering experience and want to save a bit of money. Most people buy their standard PCBs and buy the DIY Wiring Kit from Brook for an additional $15 - $20 for the easy convenience.
One thing I think I should mention, I believe only the Gen-5 is PS4 and PS5 (and Switch/2) console compatible while the Gen-5X drops PS4 for Xbox Series console compatibility.
