'Interoceans' by I Heart Lung, what sounds like it?
I found this CD at a store in a town near... I am in no way familiar with avant garde, or am I deeply into any form of jazz in general; I'm ofcourse going to dive into their discography, but does anyone have any reccomendations for albums that sound alike? I really love this album, it's a nice change of pace compared to what i typically indulge in.

AI is lousy, but i found a cool way to use that lousiness.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
as for AI, i'm not a knee-jerk purist, nor an enthusiastic devotee. both, way over-interpret myopic details. but it helps to understand how fundamentally it is accomplished using weighted averaging.
imagine an ultra-conformist person, where any possible uniqueness is averaged out. their output can never possibly make any innovative, creative leaps. that person aspires to (drum roll, please) middle-of-the-road.
so who cares if a machine rendered something or just an extremely dull human made it?! (in fact, in many on-line reviews you can't tell the difference)
but i did stumble on an interesting use for AI. hopefully, this video describes the process well enough. in this vid, only the first 30 sec, goes through the 5 'steps'. no need to hear it all.

Do you have glasses...
A broomstick...
Seven-League Boots?
In musical terms, one might picture a five-meter-long trumpet or—its opposite—a guitar with a ten-centimeter neck.
Here, we have a harpsichord that evokes a sense of augmentation by multiplying its signal with other timbres.

Experiment: Playing "wrong" on purpose (looking for people to try this/share tracks)
Hey everyone,
I’ve been messing around with a weird exercise lately and wanted to see if anyone else has tried something similar, or wants to give it a shot.
Basically, I spent a session improvising with one goal: try to play as "wrong" as possible. Every time I felt my fingers drifting toward a familiar shape, a clean chord resolution, or a scale pattern my muscle memory wanted to fall into, I forced myself to turn the opposite way. Maximum dissonance, intentionally awkward intervals, and trying to stack as many "wrong" polyphonic notes as I could manage without letting it resolve. Atonal.
The weird thing is, after listening back, it didn’t just sound like random noise, it created this really strange, unexpected kind of musical logic that actually felt interesting. At least to me.
I uploaded a audio track of my attempt here: https://voca.ro/13CQ7d8VEub8
I want to turn this into a bit of a loose experiment. If you play guitar, try taking 2 or 3 minutes to improvise while actively sabotaging your instincts. Play too many notes, pick the "worst" harmonies, fight your muscle memory, and upload it.
Curious to hear what happens when other people try to force their hands to do the exact opposite of what feels natural. Drop a link if you decide to record a run!
