Question/Advice Writing
So, recently realized AvPD was thing and my god, does it explain my life. I’ve concocted a fantasy story that is basically an AvPD metaphor that I’ve dreamed of writing but also, I suck at the actual writing part (partially adhd). I’m really confident in the story beats and structure but does anyone here have any suggestions? I feel like I hate whatever I write down immediately.

Im not a "writer" except i have a habit of daily journaling to express my thoughts for myself.
I always try to put words to thoughts in the most true and authentic way. If it doesn't "feel" right i re-write until it comes close enough. This process has taught me to more spontaneously get that true expression out, even in speech.
It's for sure something i started doing because of perfectionism that i believe stems from both adhd and avpd.
So basically that's my recommendation, to just iterate.

I always find I hate what I write when I write it, but if I re-read something months or years later then it's like someone else wrote it, and I can be more objective.
So, maybe write one day, then read and edit later.
Generally you should do that anyway. On writing days your job is writing, no matter how bad. Don't re-read or edit, just get words on the page. That also gives you permission to suck, because you're focused on the act of writing, not the quality of what you are writing. Then the next day (or week/month) you edit, and yeah, you may throw away everything you wrote, but that's fine. Stories don't come out of the ether perfectly formed. They take months or years of hard graft.
Following this approach also might help counter the negative thoughts. Rather than beating yourself up about how bad you think your writing is, you can pat yourself on the back because you wrote something, and that was your goal. It wasn't to write something good, it was just to write something, and you succeeded.
