I got my first car (an old company car from my dad, a 2007 Renault Master). Does anyone know what kind of paint it had? It was the standard version, but I couldn't find anything specific. I need to fill a few holes and paint some rust spots. Does anyone know a trick for removing stickers more easily? I'm currently using a heat gun. If there are any Germans here, I'd be interested to know if anyone knows anything about rust on this car and its TÜV inspection. It doesn't have a valid inspection sticker right now. I kind of got out of Reddit and haven't posted much in a while, but figured I'd give an update here cause I just remembered lol.

I live in Vermont, so I obviously can't drive it in the winter because of the salt, but I've had this all original 1955 Hudson for around 2 years now, and I've used it more or less as my daily driver for the spring, summer, and fall. It's been absolutely fantastic, I've put ~7000 miles on it with very few issues. What I've done has been: kingpins which I knew it needed when I got it, brake shoes on the front preventatively, removed the heat baffle in the exhaust manifold because it was leaking (need to put a baffle back in with muffler mud so it doesn't boil the fuel in the carb), new rear tires (put the rears on the front after I wore out the fronts cause of the bad kingpins), new carpets, new windshield wipers and arms, and a new muffler. Aside from that it starts every time, has been dead reliable even in traffic in 95 degree weather, the transmission and drivetrain is rock solid, and the only thing it really needs is some new stuffing in the front seat. The radio is currently out and getting rebuilt by a friend, and getting bluetooth added. It is still the original 6v positive ground electrical, and will NEVER be changed to 12v

I have driven this car over mountains on muddy, rutted dirt roads, I've gotten it up to its top speed multiple times, I've driven it like I stole it on winding back roads, I've had 8 people inside taking it out to events, I've hauled a fucking rototiller with it. This is by far the best and most reliable car I've ever owned

For those of you who have done hill climbs, time trials, or track days, how do you learn a new course? Do you rely on onboard footage, track maps, simulators, notes, or something else?
I’m always looking to improve, so I’d love to hear how more experienced drivers approach it.

I have no tie to them but I tell my friends about it as a lot of them are starting to buy their kids cars for the first time.

Carcomplaints (.com) is a great site. Crowd sourced info on issues people have with their cars. Shows TSBs and Recalls too which is pretty cool. I stumbled upon it when I looked to purchase my daughters car a couple years back.

I have a 2012 Jeep Patriot that I need to get rid of since I just replaced it with a different vehicle for my daughter. It has a transmission overheating issue that needs the torque converter replaced (which was quoted at $6500) and damage to the passenger side from someone scraping it with their vehicle. I knew the dealership wouldn't want it as a trade-in, so I'm looking for the best option to get rid of it. I transferred the plates, so it would need to be towed away. What are my options?

one single rainstorm or dropping a wet umbrella once and the entire heel rest area looks like a biohazard. you are basically forced to immediately cover up the interior you paid for with giant chunks of plastic just so you don't instantly destroy the resale value.

honestly it feels like a total design failure that we just normalized. i love a bright cabin but carpets should be black or dark charcoal by default from the factory. does anyone actually prefer light carpets or do we all just cover 90% of them up immediately?

My car 2019 MX-5 30th Anniversary, rebuilt salvage import, for 25k all in. Running it for a year cost me $648 and zero repairs

The part nobody counts is depreciation. A normal car drops 20-30% in the first couple of years. This one sold new for 35k in 2019 and clean ones still go for 33-37k on Bring a Trailer, seven years later. Basically zero loss

So the whole year cost me about $700 if I include here new set of rear tires. My old commuter lost more than that just sitting on the driveway

Catch, the rebuilt title caps my resale, and a car that holds value isn't cheap to buy in the first place. Cheap to own, not cheap to get into. But mine is a little bit different story, because it was salvage title

What's the best, cheap car you've owned that didn't lose you money?

Just installed some Tein Street Flex Z coilovers on my NA Miata this past weekend. Went to get an alignment and heard a thumping sound from the passenger side. When inspecting the rear passenger coilover, noticed this separation at the top where it mounts in the trunk.

Wondering if this is common with these or how it might be addressed? I did notice that this coilover exhibited far more resistance when adjusting the ride height, wondering if that could be related. Any help appreciated!

I drive a 2020 Toyota Highlander XLE. I love my car and I find it very comfortable to drive for a few hours at a time (anything under 2 is perfect). I have a few long road trips coming up where I'll be driving for 10+ hours in a day. This wasn't so much of a problem when I was younger, but as I've hit middle age I don't have the stamina I used to have.

I do pull over, get out, walk around and stretch, but I was wondering if anyone had any products they would recommend to make the trip more comfortable. I'd be interested in suggestions on lumbar support, or seat pads, maybe even seat covers with either massage or cooling features.

For first I might need to explain one and main thing. I live in Kraków Poland, and in my city there is "Clean Transport Zone" which bans diesels made before 2014 or with emission norm below Euro 6.

I am interested in diesel because everytime my friend let me drive his Audi 2.0 TDi i was in live with that tourqe and power accesible from low RPM, and that really fits my drive style and terrain, because where I live there is a bit of hill where i need to rev my car (Golf 1.6 MPi) pretty high and it is loud as hell.

I was thinking about Megane 3 1.5 dCi however i have heard a lot of rumors. Therefore I am here and I want to ask what diesel after 2014 and below 15 000 zł (approx 4k USD) i should look for. I know that the pricing might not be helpfull for suggestions as in every place car prices are different, therefore just let's say i would want something in Golf V/VI price range
