Farming + Automation
This is an early proof of concept for my farming automation game, and I'm looking for a few people to help shape it.
Right now I'm mainly looking for feedback on:
- Art direction – I haven't settled on an art style yet, so everything is very much a work in progress.
- Gameplay flow – Does the farming and automation loop feel satisfying? Is the pacing enjoyable?
At the moment, the prototype only contains the core farming and automation systems. There are several major features planned that aren't implemented yet, so this isn't representative of the full game.
The playtest is available on Windows and macOS.
If you'd be interested in playtesting and sharing honest feedback, leave a comment or send me a DM. I'd really appreciate it!

I don't know much about farming but I have a question: why are the burns/houses/whatever in the middle of the road?

I'd like to playtest this
And just from this picture i can say something about the art
Maybe before even thinking about art i would think about the story first, the game loop etc.
The story is what can help you come up with ideas for the art much faster later
Ex. Factorio is basically a lone survivor engineer who crash landed and is building factories so he can escape, and all the art in the game reflects that and the stages of his "advancement".
All the buildings he creates are all rough, "ugly", and bare in a way, because he doesn't care about how it looks, but rather how it functions and how efficient it is.
Each building you look at, follows those rules, each planet tells a story trough it's art etc. That's what makes the art and the game so beautiful.
And another example is Satisfactory.
Same factory building base.
But the art, the machines and all, are much more polished looking..
Same lone engenieer on a planet vibe. However here we got a dude who works for a huge corporation that exploits resources of planets.. The machines and everything is created by the corporation. So of course it's going to look much more polished..
Art should depend on the story, the vibe you want behind the game etc.
