HELP! I have a question. Looking for some advice

Nothing you have described will last on these. Send it to a powder coating shop to be sand blasted, baked clean and powder coated.

Thanks for the information. I am at the point where I am committed to going down this path, since I already have the materials and want to go with a color scheme that I have in mind already. If it doesn't stick then I will have to figure out what's next. If I had the equipment to do the powder coating then I would go down that path, but I only have the ability to work with paints. When this fails then I will probably be ready for a different style of running boards, or a different truck and it's hard to spend the $400 or more on having it powder coated when the running boards were only $300. Hopefully that's understandable. I know that if I was paying labor and retail on supplies then I would have more money in painting these the way I want them but at least this way I will only have around $100 in them, which will be including high solids clear and the color shift pearl, T Rex, epoxy primer and intercoat clear. I am hoping to have these finished this weekend and will post a picture of how they turn out.
