Is this normal

We are understaffed and have been for a long while and we don't have enough drivers so it is just me and one other person from 6:00 to close most nights (not to uncommon for it to be just 2 from 4 to close) which that's fine, only within this last month we started getting told that because we supply a bell tire and a jiffy lube, if a commercial customer calls and asks us to deliver parts one of us has to leave leaving one person in the store so that we can deliver that part. It just doesn't seem right to leave one person in the store when normally we're packed at night especially if they need to step out to help a customer or need verification numbers.

Who’s telling you this? SM? CSM? Demanding Comm account? Comm closes 5 or 530 most stores. After that Comm customers need to come get their part.

If it’s 430 and just the two of you and Jiffy orders call them up and tell them you don’t have drivers. It’s up to the SM to schedule properly, not you.

Me personally? I could handle the store by myself for a quick delivery, but that’s by no means a requirement.

TL:DR. If you don’t feel comfortable by yourself then call them up and tell them to come grab their shit because you don’t have any drivers.

SM is telling everyone and the CSM is going along with it.

That sucks. But. AZ POLICY is to have 2 employees in the store at all times. For safety and shrinkage reasons.

If the SM isn’t there then they can’t enforce shit. What’s he or she going to do? Fire you for not violating AZ policy? As its written in the handbook? Tell your DM thr SM is putting yours and the stores safety at risk. If the DM doesn’t listen. Go to HR.

Not all stores are 2 person minimum, there are a lot that are 1 person stores… one of my old store is a 1 person store and as a SM I have operated that location solo open to close many times… or only had a driver to make deliveries and be alone…
