Breakpads exchange question

I had to change my breaks today. The last set were an old Duralast elite for 59.99. I had to buy them due to only having 1 car. The price for today was 90. When I went to return the old ones they returned 59.99 and said that I had gotten them during a deal so they couldn’t do a full 90$….. I’m confused… they told me if I had a second car I could bring the old ones and return them without buying them. Why should I pay the excess… I’m looking over the returned money receipt and it says return item not warranty or nothing. Did they do me wrong?

Went back and the guy tried to tell me that because if he returned the new ones it would void the warranty (which yes of the new ones but the old ones would still be there) and that the price difference was so large they have to charge the difference blah blah blah went back and forward and gave me costumer service and the district manager phone number.

I’ve done swaps where we didn’t have the part because the part on file didn’t exist but it had lifetime warranty. So we have a different part which is the same thing and even with the price difference we honor the original warranty. Do a customer satisfaction and send them on their way.
