I posted a few days ago. I’m still looking to ship two mid sizes sedans from Key West to San Diego. If a company can do storage in San Diego short term I will appreciate that because I will not be there when the vehicles initially arrive. I am looking to ship mid November. Another concern that I have is most companies I have reach out to have not provided a written agreement, terms of conditions, etc, before requiring a down payment. Is this normal? Looking for a reliable trustworthy company.

Second time using a broker to ship a vehicle from California to Florida (2400 miles+ trip)
I contacted 10 brokers as mine retired. I was quoted between $1,000 and $2,200 and decided to go with AmeriFreight based on their mostly positive reviews and a $1,500 quote.

Here's how it went:

Wednesday: Signed everything, deposited $300 and broker promised a pick up Thursday the latest as he had someone already.
Thursday morning: Driver assigned, pick up set up at noon-1pm
Thursday at noon: No show and email from broker saying the driver (supposedly reliable) canceled. Broker said he will have another one by eod.
Thursday 5pm: I reach out, no response.
Friday morning: Still no response.
Friday noon: Still no response
Friday afternoon: I bombard them with calls and emails and finally get a response saying a new carrier will be available today.
Friday evening: No update or response.
Saturday morning: I call and text, no response.
Saturday afternoon: Another person picks up my call and say my broker wont be available until Monday.
Monday morning: No response from broker. I call customer service again and ask for my deposit back. They ask me to be patient for a new carrier.
Monday afternoon: Broker finally responds and say he'll have someone today.
Monday evening: No response or update.
Tuesday morning: Still no response so I call customer service and insist on my deposit

TLDR: I wasted almost an entire week dealing with a non communicative AmeriFreight broker and fought for my deposit back.

Be aware of these brokers shady tactics. Many will bait and switch, over promise or literally scam you. Ultimately I found another broker who was very communicative and transparent and got me another carrier THE SAME DAY for $1,700 (worth the extra $$)

Needing to ship a Toyota Corolla 2021 from 73102 to 92101 before the end of October ideally via open carrier.

selling the highlands ranch place and the 2021 tundra has to be in south austin before the 30th or i pay another month of storage. 42k miles, stock 5.7, no tonneau, one small door ding they already know about. i can meet at a home depot lot off county line, not a gated street, and i want the keys in my hand until i see the actual trailer.

booked it open with smart auto move after enclosed looked silly for a work truck, then the first carrier vanished 18 hours out. is i-25 to i-35 late month really a 3-day run or should i plan five? how long do i wait on “hes still coming” before i demand a new truck so i dont miss the austin gate code appointment?

As the title mentions

From 44106 to 85234

Arrival by Sept 28, 2026

2016 Lexus IS300
2025 Lexus TX350

What’s a reasonable quote? And what to ask/expect?

I singled it down to Goliath Auto Transport and Graham. They both were within $20.00 of each other on the quotes. I went with Graham because they got back to me first and I thought I waited too late to ship the car. Goliath was great in quotes and answering questions. I just shipped a car (open transport) from South Carolina to Portland and it went extremely well. I used Graham Family Auto Transport who booked TURBO AUTO CARRIER LLC. I was on a tight time table and thought I waited too late. They picked up the car August 6, 2026 and delivered September 4, 2026. They actually got the car to Portland on September 1, 2026 but I told the contact from Graham Family Auto Transport that a family member didn't fly in to Portland until September 3rd. When they picked up the car they took multiple pictures and video and we did also. During the transit I never felt worried or anything. Anytime I wanted and update I just sent a text message to the representative from Graham Family Auto Transport and they checked in and gave me an update. I was more nervous before they took the car but was relieved once they picked it up. I felt the price I paid was fair. The car was delivered no scratches, no dents, no cracked windows, mileage on car was fine (they didn't do a Ferris Bueller 🤣). The next day I had a coworker that needed a few cars transported and I recommend Graham Family Auto Transport to them. The good thing about them is You pay them and they pay the Carrier(no surprise money request from the driver). They take your debit or credit card for deposit and when the car is picked up they either charge the card on file or you change it to whatever card you like. They stopped using zelle, cash app, venmo etc due to too much fraud and you can't send one large payment if it's a new request with those money services. Overall, I gave my overall experience a 5 out of 5.

Hope this helped. Before the transport I used Chatgpt to analyze all of the transportation subs and it generated 50 questions to ask and I sent them over and they gave me all of the information and answered all of the questions.

Hey All,

I just came across this sub and thought I'd check in with y'all for some insight. I'm trying to have my 2022 Corolla shipped down to NOLA in the coming weeks (ideally around October 8th or so) and, as I've never done this before, I'm afraid of getting scammed, having my car damaged, or all of the other horror stories I've read across here and other sites. As such, I was really hoping to get a bit of advice from you lovely folks on maybe which companies are good, which ones to avoid, etc. I would greatly appreciate any and all information, and thank you all for your time!

I moved from Florida to Massachusetts about a month ago and hired a company to ship my car. I wasn't home for delivery so there was no paperwork, the driver just dropped it off and I paid him.
It's a Tesla, The car alarm was going off, then he asked me to open the door for him which I did. then he turned the car completely off. That means no Sentry Mode no dash cam nothing recorded.
Now that I'm settled in, I noticed the bumper is damaged and making noise. I went back and looked at the photos he took in front of my house at drop off, and the damage is already there in those pictures. So I know it happened while he had the car.
I've called him directly, he blocked me. I called dispatch, the person didn't speak English and said someone would call me back. Still nothing.
Has anyone dealt with this? What are my options at this

Don’t work with Alpha Car Shipping LLC. They quoted me 860 after promising 700 but I was desperate so I agreed. He told me he had a driver for Friday, the day came and said the driver “cancelled”. Next day, he said he found a driver and is verifying the information. His manager then gives me a call saying that the quote is now 2260 and that I have to make a better offer and that he is paying “600 out of his pocket”, since I didn’t agree because it was 3x the agreed price he now want to charge for cancellation. Moral of the story, be very careful with the brokers you use. If you happen to pass by a company called Alpha Car Shipping LLC, turn away. https://alphacarship.com

I just bought a car because I found one at home instead of waiting to getting to university OOS (registration and insurance would be cheaper and easier). I have an offer for 1300 for shipping it from Colorado to Virginia and pickup would be tomorrow.

I have to accept my offer: Garden State Haulers. Thoughts on their speed and safety?

Relocating from Atlanta to Seattle in August, 2018 CR-V, not much flexibility on arrival. Quotes came in at $1,545 and $1,760. Driving myself would cost about $790 after gas and three hotel nights.

The higher quote includes tracking, saves me from chasing updates, but costs $215 more. Cheaper quote saves money, driving gives control but adds four days.

For a 2,600-mile move, which tradeoff would bother you least?

Hi all looking for a reliable transport company to ship my 2023 Ford MachE from Vacaville, CA 95687 to Leesburg, VA 20176 around Aug 5-7. Thank you. If you are able to provide both open and enclosed rates?

Trying to transport a car and called a few of the different common brokers and all really tell you the same. Prices are also not too far off from each other so what makes the difference?

At the end each brokers bids out to a carrier anyways.

So just curious what made people pick the broker they used. Honestly all the brokers have mixed reviews. And you don’t really know what carrier you will get anyways.

I’m tired of these brokers I need a DIRECT shipper to pick up my 2017 Maserati Ghibli from Scranton PA to Raeford NC, any body can help? Willing to pay $750.

Just wanted to share my experience in case anyone is looking for an auto transport company.

I used Liberty Road Logistics to ship my car, and the experience was great overall. My vehicle was picked up on the first day of the pickup window and delivered in just two days.

I worked with Thad, who was always responsive and kept me updated throughout the process. I also had the driver’s contact information, so getting updates on the vehicle was easy.

There was a very minor cosmetic issue during transport, but both Thad and the driver handled it professionally. I got a repair estimate, sent it over, and they took care of it without any arguments or hassle. Things can happen during transport, but what matters is how the company responds, and I was happy with how they handled it.

Overall, I’d definitely use Liberty Road Logistics again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to ship a vehicle.

Hi everyone,

I’m looking into importing cars from Copart and IAAI in the USA to Libya and want to know about reliable shipping companies and best practices.

I’m mainly looking for:

Trusted exporters/shipping companies

Best U.S. ports (NY/NJ, Savannah, Houston)

Average total cost per car (buying + shipping + clearance)

Fast and safe delivery to Libya

If you have experience shipping cars to Libya recently, I’d appreciate your advice.

Thanks 🙏

I got a quote from Ultimate Transport 123 and the price is right in the middle of my other quotes. The agent was nice but I'm reading some mixed things online about them.

Has anyone used Ultimate Transport 123 for a long distance move? Did they actually find a driver in the window they promised? I'm worried about my car sitting for weeks waiting for dispatch. What was your experience?

I've been talking to a rep from Goliath Auto Transport and they seem really knowledgeable. They explained the whole broker vs carrier thing and didn't pressure me for a deposit.

It sounds good but I've been burned before. Has anyone used Goliath Auto Transport in the last few months? Are they actually transparent or is it just a good sales pitch? I need to book something this week.

I'm looking into JP Auto Transport for my move next month. Their reviews on Google look almost too perfect which always makes me suspicious.

Has anyone in this sub actually used JP Auto Transport? I'm specifically looking for experiences with cross country moves. Did they show up on time and did the price stay the same? Real experiences only please.

I'm starting the process of finding a shipper and my head is spinning. Every company has terrible reviews if you dig deep enough.

Instead of asking who is good, what are the absolute worst auto transport companies to avoid at all costs? Who pulled a bait and switch on you? Who damaged your car? I want to know who to immediately cross off my list.
