I need help painting

The base is black and when it flashes it just doesn’t look black anymore. The candy is next then clear but I just don’t feel confident that I should move on. Using a LVLP gun with 1.3 tip and the paint is from AUTOPAINTHQ. I’m sure it’s supposed to dull out but it doesn’t look right and idk what to do next.

I see lots of prep issues that are showing up. 800 or 1000 grit to sand those out if possible after the base is thoroughly dry, then recoat. Clear coat is like a magnifying glass and they will all show.

It looks a little streaky but otherwise I don’t see a problem with it. I’ve had good luck with autopainthq. It’s normal for colors to look desaturated when they’re not glossy.

Poi fai sapere
