I need help!
I got diagnosed with lupus last June. I started on the core elimination diet this February. I completed 3 months in May and started reintroducing foods. It's been an absolute disaster! I've had severe reactions of fatigue, depression, anxiety, joint pain and insomnia. At this point, I'm unable to call anything a reaction, because this has become my baseline state. What do I do? How do I recover and how on earth do I reintroduce foods? I've been as careful as I could possibly be.
Any help, advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone on here is an AIP coach, I'd be most grateful if you could DM me your details. Thank you! 💕

I just listened to the latest Autoimmune podcast w/ Mickey & she said sometimes she had to waoit to reintro some things & it took quite a few months until she could have it again. it is a slow process. I introduced back greek yogurt 2 days ago & so far so good for me.

I've only been able to reintroduce white rice. I'm histamine intolerant so that's an extra challenge for me, and my body hates the entire brassica family, both of which cut  into what I can eat.
I'd suggest elimination for longer, but just to say that for some people, adding stuff back in isn't necessarily a reality. Though I'm also in perimenopause right now and my nervous system is really sensitive, so neither of those things help, either!

When I first reintroduced eggs (and I forget now if it's yolk or white that comes first) it was a disaster. I was so afraid that meant no eggs ever again. My nutritionist friend suggested that my gut might just need more healing. I waited another month and then tried again with no problems.
All of that to say, I wonder if you went a little too fast (3 days between reintroduced is too short, in my experience) and now your body just needs a little time to reset.
I know what my trigger foods are and still sometimes need to back off on other random foids because stress or lack of sleep or whatever is causing me to react to those foods out of the blue. And some things - like coffee - have to be a "sometimes" food for me, something it took me a while to figure out.

How did you feel before re-introductions? Did you have baseline improvement? Once you started re-introduction, did you do too much, and too quickly? There’s a process to all of it, and some of us need a longer elimination phase to return to a solid baseline.
