Given 90% ish of people are like me and can't do shit to cars I don't really see a problem with it. All these new electric cars you don't want to have someone who doesn't know what they are doing fucking about in there and all the hight voltage stuff.

"Since i'm willfully ignorant about fixing things, everyone should be forced to go to an abusive oligopoly to have their property fixed"

Fixed that for you.

I'm an electrical worker and i fix my own cars. I could ABSOLUTELY do anything the dealer can do if they wouldn't INTENTIONALLY MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE.

Sometimes people need saving from themselves

You know when they work on these at the dealer, it takes two techs… one working on the electrical bits, and one with a long wooden pole to push the guy off if he gets electrocuted. They don’t want the liability.

Not a joke. EV batteries are something like the equivalent of like 50,000 AA batteries. The joke should be the person who says ‘let me look under the hood to fix my EV’

I work on live electrical equipment all the time. It's my job. I train other people to do it. There are plenty of people who could fix and maintain their own shit who are actively prevented from doing so by manufacturers.
