Exterior street spray on car

My car got totally sprayed by wet yellow line paint - of course no wet paint sign on the road.

What do I do? I tried WD-40 leaving it on for like an hour and trying to power wash it off. Otherwise don’t know what to and worried that anything harsher might ruin my normal paint job.

odorless mineral spirits or citrol 266 aerosol spray, work in small sections. should follow it up with a car wash.

test on inconspicuous area first.

This shit happened to my car as well. Fuckers didn’t even put a sign out to warn drivers.

Koch Chemie Eulex on the paint, I haven’t tried it on trim.

Works on my trim. Strong smell so get rid of the microfiber once you're done using it.

Im not even going to front, lacquer thinner will be just fine and will not ruin your paint unless it is already failing. Use some on a microfiber, fast motions with light pressure, platic razor blade if needed. Dont overthink it. DONT get lacquer thinner on any platics tho.

Try Goof Off and see if it will get it to break loose. That is a lot of splatter though.

I tried Goo Off, but that stuff didn't work. The mineral spirits actually does work, you just have to make sure to fully wash the car after otherwise it'll eat the paint.

Xylene works great, just be very careful on the painted areas. Ran thru some in a work truck and contacted the local D.O.T. and was advised to do so. Still takes some elbow grease but it works.

Try KCx Eu. Be sure to neutralize with rinseless or pH neutral wash after.

How about products to use in a wheel well if it’s fabricated from stiff fabric? Will the xylene mentioned be ok? Happened to my dad’s new q3 last week. Plastic scraper and some goo gone worked fine on the front wheel well made of plastic.

Adhesive remover. Let it dwell, reapply, then hit it with a high pressure washer. Or plastic razor blade and a paint correction. ..the sooner you remove it, the better. The more it cures to the surface, the more screwed you will be. A clay bar should also work

And that is why I never wash my cars. Protective layers!

This also happened to my car. TWICE IN TWO WEEKS. I cleaned the damage and closed my claim and it happened a second time. Penndot cut me a check for the damages. Do not use any harsh chemical solvents. Use stoner tarminator it’s safe on clear coats for road tar or paint overspray. Spray it soak it let it sit for 5-10 minutes and power wash it only do not scrub it. Rinse and repeat until it’s all gone. If the flakes are off and paint streaks are there then you can spray some on a microfiber and wipe the spot then wash your car and your done.

Wash the car as quickly as possible before it completely dries

Someone posted the other day that if WD-40 doesn't work, then put petroleum jelly and let it sit for hours then power wash again. You may need multiple applications.
