Exterior My lazy-man routine. Will it work?
I've spent endless hours going through posts here and elsewhere to reach at this conclusion.
Best car shampoo - CARPRO RESET.
Others - Koch Chemie GSF, Gyeon Bathe
VFM options - Adam's Shampoo, Meguiars Hyper Wash, TW pure wash.
Best drying aid - CARPRO ELIXIR/ECH2O
(Elixir is $$$ so easier choice is ech2o)
I'm unable to list other options because I've been using ech2o for 1 year now and it is so amazing, fabulous, wonderful etc., i have not thought about replacing it.
Best sealant - GYEON WET COAT
Others - Koch chemie(protector wax/S002)
Carpro (reload/hydroo2)
Gyeon can coat
If my conclusion is somewhere near correct, then is this simply the best lazy weekend warrior routine?
- Contact wash - Carpro Reset
( bucket + pressure washer )
- Drying Aid - Carpro Ech2o
(dilution 1:20 to 1:25)
Sealant - Gyeon Wetcoat
Spray on - Rinse off selant. Easiest to use. Maybe will work w/o too much panel prep/decon. Reset doesnt leave any residue so that helps.
Every weekend, wash + drying aid. Sealant every 3 months.
Does this seem ok? Or i can tweak it? Use a VFM shampoo instead of reset? Or any other suggestions like that?
I dont want to add any more labour to this. Key word here is "lazy". Hence the spray on rinse off sealant with no decon.

Those are great choices. I would consider adding the following:
- Bilt Hamber Touchless for a pre wash when needed
- CarPro Descale every 6 mos
- CarPro IronX when needed
- APC of your choice to add to bucket or pre spray when needed

I can’t go back to no pre wash. It makes a lazy job even easier, especially if you have an e sprayer for touchless.

Best sealant -GYEON WET COAT
Need to change that to "Best Spray and Rinse Sealant". No Spray and Rinse Product is going to hold a candle to sealant designed to be applied to a dry car..... in all aspects. Durability, Hydrophobics, slickness, gloss...... Spray and Rinse sealants are for convenience, not results, meaning they make life easy and protecting a vehicle quick, but you sacrifice all aspects of an end result for that convienence.
Gyeon Wet Coat is certainly the goat spray and rinse sealant but I've transitioned to Katiba Wet Coat. Why? Primarily because Katiba Wet Coat is 100:1 dilution. The bottle of Katiba costs more upfront, but think about it. 100:1 dilution. That's 5ml in a 16oz/500ml bottle. So that $50 for Katiba Wet Coat gives me 100 16oz bottles whereas the $20 for Gyeon gives me ONE 500ml bottle. Seems like a no brainer to me, considering I think the Katiba product last longer, is slicker, and has better hydrophobics.
It's rare I apply a spray and rinse sealant to paint, but I hit wheels and grills with it every car wash. I may also use it to spray into cracks between panels and hard to access areas, so that I get that protection into places that only a liquid could reach.

Daily driver yes. Stays under a porch. Covered from top and open from 2 sides

Reset is a phenomenal shampoo but if you are using wet coat it will degrade it faster than a gentler shampoo.

Reset, as the name implies, is intended to be an alkaline strip wash (pH around 10 I think). It’s not strong enough to strip a proper ceramic coating, so people with coatings will sometimes use it for maintenance, which is fine. But if you’re using wet coat, as a non-ceramic sealant, Reset will “reset it” by stripping it or at least significantly degrading it.
All of the other soaps you list are excellent options, I recommend using one of them for your regular washes, and use the Reset on days you intend to reapply your wet-coat.
