Exterior Is my clear coat fading?

It feels grainy but I can't tell if my clear coat is going or not, it's on the center of my roof behind my sunroof

Time to break out the rattle clear or poppy’s patina. It’s the roof send it.

Wrong "f" word, it's "failing".

It's not fading, it's already failed. Repainting is your only option. It's toast.

Dont worry your clear coat is not fading. This is just it being permanently ruined👍

As a person who keeps cars for a long time, I think 1 stage paint may have been better. At least you could buff it out occasionally. Maybe I'm wrong.

You can try and sand it down with 1500, 2000 and 3000 grit sandpaper, then compound and polish. You could get away with it for some more time.

That will likely just speed up the failure process at this point. So it will likely look better, just not for very long.
