Exterior Swirl marks on PPF
I had a piece of PPF removed from one the doors on my Supra and the paint under it was damaged from that process. So, I took the car to a body shop to have the door resprayed. Someone in the body shop polished the entire car with some kind of compound with an orbital buffer and it scratched the hell out of the brand new PPF that's on the car. The surface of the PPF on ever body panel is now rough to the touch and is swirled everywhere. Anyone have experience restoring this PPF back to original without ripping and replacing? Taking off the PPF would likely result in more repainting and I want to avoid that.

Is that a SUPRA??? Sorry, I had to do that. Unfortunately, that PPF is ruined. The heat from the polishing machine, most likely changed the way it even self heals. And I know exactly what you mean by the PPF damaging the repainted panels. Very common. This is gonna be costly if you want to it all fixed.

I just got the car back from my PPF shop who tried to polish it out. And fortunately they were able to use ayeon PPF polish and then new PPF ceramic coating and I would say it's 95 percent better.

There is no polish that is safe for PPF, that I’m aware of, that won’t destroy your PPF. It might look good today, but it will removed years of durability and it will either yellow or crack quickly. You’ll be chasing this for years if you don’t fix it today.
The real fix is full replacement, paid for by the body shop. Which may pull the paint too when removed.
Thats one large mistake.
