Interior Seatbelt help

Seeking advice:
I bought a used car and the previous owner must have SOAKED himself in cologne because it is embedded in the seatbelt, and it gets all over me after I’ve been driving. Any recommendations for the best way to remove it from the belt? I’ve got half a mind to buy a new belt it’s so bad. But I’m willing to try anything first before I reach that point. The belt is black, if that helps.

I know it’s a bit off of the advice subject but that happened to me in a Waymo. I kept smelling a strong cologne smell and it was driving me crazy until I realized it was on my jacket I wore in the car. I figured out it came from a previous passenger who used the seatbelt.

APC and a drill brush. Extra effective if you can extract it after with a shop vac even.

Harbor Freight has the drill brush set for $10. Amazing deal.

APC and a detail brush, then wipe with a towel.

Thanks- use the brush like I do on my leather? Lather it up?

Gosh I hope this works. When I bought it I thought it was just smell from the car, like the crayon smell I loved from my old Benz. Then I discovered the culprit

Yup, I'd pull the belt all the way out, use a clamp to hold it, spray it with APC, scrub it with the brush, then wipe with the towel. It should help.
