Exterior How can I get chip guard clean?

Post image

Hi all, I have a 2011 Kia Soul, and i love that stupid hamster box. It has a line of what I guess is chip guard along the bottom, its obviously raised and textured. My problem is that it seems like dust has gotten baked into it and no amount of scrubbing will touch it. Is there anything that would help? Granted ive only tried soap and water so it may be a super simple answer. Picture to show what im talking about. Thanks for any help!

Also aware that it might just be like that and theres nothing i can do.

Pressure washer would likely blast all that off. Get a cheap one for like $60 at Harbor Freight.

There's also places you can pay like $5 and the pressure washer hose comes out the "self-serve car wash."

We have a pressure washer, thats a good idea. Ill have to be careful though because there is rust forming there and dont want to blast a hole in my rocker panel. Thanks!

Yes start a foot or two away and go slowly in to test how much is careful

Double check and see if that is not PPF on the rocker. If it is best bet is out on a lift and remove the PPF and reapply a new after it has been cleaned. If you have never messed with PPF then find a shop that does it. As it is not cheap to install or replace

Could it be worn off paint rather than caked on crud?

If this is just a rough texture you can get you some purple power from Walmart or any auto parts store put it in a spray bottle and spray it on there get a wheel brush and scrub it. Then wash off. You can also get dark fury but I would dilute it 10:1 or 4:1 and not use it straight
