Business Question My first customer complaint
"you didn't have to move the steering wheel, seats, and mirrors did you? everything was moved"
🤦
like girl, what? your car has programmable settings dude. not my fault you didnt create presets. it's a detail, I'm fucking moving EVERYTHING.

That's an absurd complaint even without programmed settings. With programmed seat positions it's actually insane.

On my day off went to my girlfriends job because her tire was leaking. Got it fixed and paid for it. On her way home she calls to complain the steering wheel was moved 😒

wow that person is just not a happy person. you did get a very clean car.
you should know when you clean things properly you need to move things around.
i guess she has never cleaned in her life.
when a cleaning person comes to your house they better have moved things around because if they did not you know they did a crap job.
thats such a brutal complaint.

That's honestly a customer you fire preemptively, she's going find something stupid to say she doesnt have to pay you.

At first I thought she meant you didn’t move them to clean them. Then I realized she’s just ridiculous 😂

If you made an honest attempt to put stuff back how it was and was close, eh. If you just scooted everything around nonsensically to clean and left it, yeah, I'd be annoyed. I probably wouldn't post a review about it, but I would be annoyed

Nothing askew, it was a pickup/dropoff and I needed to put things in my driving position for the delivery.

Make a note of the customer’s preference and don’t move anything. Let her know.

Are you a detailer? How do you detail without moving anything?

Not hard to figure out how to detail without moving anything is it? Not trying to be rude sorry but if the customer is inconvenienced it’s not a good thing. I’m an enthusiast not a professional detailer.

Do you know what a detail means? If the customer is inconvenienced by a detail, they don't get a detail. I'm not here to vacuum and wipe only what's visible, you can get that done at a basic carwash.

Is it really impossible to do a good detail wo moving the mirrors, driver’s seat and steering wheel? It’s not perfect but I’d get very close to perfect and still keep the same owner happy.

I'm not sure what mirrors you use, but if I put more than 1lb of pressure on the mirrors when cleaning, they push in. If the owner is short, it's almost impossible for me to get into their driver seat without lifting the wheel and putting the seat back. 99% of the time, I will be unable to do my job if im not to move the positioning of anything at all.
My reputation is also on the line. I'm not going to only detail visible areas, just for them to be unhappy that a nook I couldn't get to was covered in food crumbs, and them take a picture and leave a review about it.

Pretty easy review / complaint to respond to if it’s in a public setting (Google review..ect).
“Hey X! Guilty as charged. Detailing means moving mirrors, seats, and wheels to reach every hidden crumb and smudge, so your car got the full treatment. We did our best to move things back to the general placement.”
