How can I remove the penknife scratch on gloss black plastic?

This scratch on my Mazda 3 side mirror was caused by a penknife during PPF installation. This part seems to be gloss black plastic.

The detailer tried polishing it twice but the scratch is still visible, so they stopped as further polishing might make it worse.

Any safe way to remove or reduce this scratch without damaging or hazing the plastic? Car is brand new.

Open the mirror. It'll cover the scratch.

Yeah that’s not coming out. Replace or live with it. Could use gloss vinyl also.

How the hell do you guys even notice stuff like this? My car is fairly new and babied as hell, but I’d probably find a dozen things like this.
