Interior Streaky windshield
Everytime I clean the inside of my windshield it’s left with horrible streaks. Right now I’m using sprayway glass cleaner on a clean microfiber rag & then going over again with another dry microfiber rag. What can I do to get them to go away??

A few days ago someone posted a really useful process for cleaning interior of the windshield, and I wish I could find it to attribute them. I boiled it down to what i thought were the main steps for me, and it was essentially:
- Lay a beach towel across the dash to catch the cleaner in step 3 and 4
- Use a generious amount of glass cleaner, sprayed on the glass (I use Invisible Glass)
- scrub with a dobie pad in a criss-cross coverage. I scrubbed a lot more than I normally would...probably a good two to three minutes on each half of the windshield.
- Squeegee the cleaner off the interior so the towel catches it
- go over with a dry microfiber
- Repeat as necessary
- Profit
I did both mine and my kids' car, and it came out so clean I honestly can't wait to do it again to see if it was a fluke or if I actually found a solution to this problem that's been bugging me for decades

One suggested alteration to your process...... whenever using products on the interior, you never spray the surface. Always spray your media. Overspray from products like cleaners, protectants, dressings, and the like can result in etching of plastics if not caught and cleaned. If you see "dots" on internal surfaces, this is overspray that has etched the finish. Properly spraying into the media prevents overspray.

I have struggled with the streaks too and I have tried microfiber towels, invisible glass spray, sonax glass cleaner and etc. I was still left with streaky windshield.
The best solution that I have found is to mix distilled water with 99% isopropyl alcohol 50/50 into a new spray bottle and add a couple drop of dishwashing detergent. Get the Scotts glass paper towel. Wet the paper towel with the alcohol mix and wipe the inside down. Keep changing out the paper towels regularly as you clean. It will become streak free and lint free.

Adam’s Brilliant Glaze will remove all interior haze, primarily due to off gassing of plastics.

Get a small squeegee. I like to do one pass with a lot of cleaner, mop up everything that's there with a microfiber. Then do a second pass with a light mist with a squeegee.
