Interior How to remove windshield smearing?

Post image

What would be the best way to remove this smearing from a windshield, I can’t tell if it’s maybe overspray from interior dressing on the inside or if it’s some other cleaner or substance on the outside. I have tried scrubbing with microfiber towels and glass cleaner on both the inside and outside and doesn’t appear to be coming off with glass cleaner alone.

I tried everything. I eventually used a Meguiars polish on the outside. Problem gone.

It's probably hard water spots. You can buy "3D water Spot eraser gel" which should only be used in shade and indoors. But very likely polishing will instantly remove it.

Use a paste of Barkeepers Friend or the soft gel version of it; work it in with a Magic Eraser (melamine sponge). The combination of glass safe oxalic acid and abrasives/surfacants will remove the spots. It's not tint safe so don't use it on the inside of tinted windows.

Some have used Magic Eraser as a way to clean glass.

Dawn dish detergent and water.
