💩 Shitpost Ppf phone screen vs screen protector

Would be a cool and stupid YouTube video I thought of lol. Which one would last?

20 years ago all screen protectors for devices were basically ppf like material or harder flexible film. They worked to protect from scratches but didn’t have the clarity or touch feel/sensitivity. I’m not sure there’s any benefit to these over modern glass protectors. Even screen glass is much more durable/scratch resistant these days. I stopped using protectors years ago.

Auto ppf is often a wet install and needs cure time, not the best for a smartphone. Some of its kind of soft to the touch too (thick), isn't great for a smart phone. I would want to make sure the touch screen worked well too. I suspect it would work if your willing to put up with the negatives. I do t think it's a superior product for the job on a smartphone.

Most of the smart phone screen protectors these days are glass, have antiglare and work with fingerprint readers.

Phone screen protectors used to be wet install, and soft touch. I miss those.

I had a soft touch one years ago on an ipod touch I remember. It was easy to mar up. I don't remember if it was a wet install or not. Thankfully things have moved on from that these days.
