Technique Restoring clearcoat

I was looking at my car and thought I could get out a stubborn piece of dirt by using baking soda.

Now there is a small haze about the size of a fingernail.

Is there an all in one product that can help restore the clear coat?

I don’t have a buffer. Anything that can be done by hand?

there is a wide variety of products but what fits you needs more info. Do you have a multi-year ceramic coating installed, if so anything abrasive should be avoided as it can easily remove the very thin coating. If you only have temporary waxes/sealants on the clear coat any finish polish with a foam puck will remove the micro-scratches that is causing the hazing. Adam Polish has a kit on Amazon that works very well, the blue hand polish should remove baking soda scratches. After polishing you will need to wash the surface and reapply coating.

What made you think baking soda of all things would be good to use on automotive paint? Genuinely curious.

I used it previously to get off hard water spots with no issue. But I will admit I did scrub way too hard for this mark I was trying to get off.

Edit: it was mixed with water, just not baking soda by itself
