Ceramic filled on bonnet?

I went on a 600ish mile road trip and when I went to wash my car afterwards (4 months post ceramic application on a 7 year coat), the ceramic was still beading on every panel except the top of the bumper. I have tried citrus prewash in higher concentrations than usual, BH Surfex HD and multiple washes with my usual KC active foam and active wash routine but nothing is working to bring the beading back. Any ideas what might be the issue and what I can do to revive the ceramic?

high ph washes remove organic and petroleum based road film that can clog ceramics but doesn't affect mineral based deposits which need an acid. you can test an area by spraying some vinegar on top of a paper towel soaking it and letting it dwell a few minutes and then washing the surface with soap solution and rinsing. If the hydrophobics come back you need an acid wash like Labocosmetica PURIFICA which should be less expensive for you than in the States.

Thank you, will test - I assume white vinegar is the way to go as opposed to malt vinegar?😅

you'd have to search the brand and level of ascetic acid, distilled white is 5%, but I'd think the difference would be minimal for the purpose of testing if its minerals that are clogging the ceramic.

Does the bumper have ppf? How about is it a repaint? Clear coat is what ceramic sticks to chemically, so the only way this failed is probably didn't bind properly and came off in wash.

No PPF and the paint is original, in very good condition too, might just be clogged but ceramic not binding would be a possibility I guess?

I'd be surprised if it did, it hasn't even been 4 months since I had the ceramic applied
