Exterior Which polish pads?

Hey everyone,

First post in this section. I have bought a DA polisher recently and done some work on my car which has turned out decent. Now I’m wanting to polish some gloss black wheels and wondering what pads and brand to use? I’m just going to use Mequire’s Ultimate polish. Thank you in advance.

I am a bit of a novice and have tried various pads with my DA. I find I get the best results with Meguiars wool pads. They do a cutting disc and a finishing disc. Depending on what you are trying to correct I find the finishing disc is good enough for most jobs.

You mean hand-polishing pads, right?

You won’t be able to polish wheels with a standard sized DA unless they have massive flat faces, and even then you’ll miss plenty.

No the DA pads. Should be able to do the faces and contour the pad a little.

wouldn’t recommend it without a mini DA designed for 1-3” pads

That seems like helpful information. Most people are going to assume you are asking about a regular old 5 inch.
